I really like 03-04 Cobra's... they're arguably the best Mustang mass produced pre-GT500... and even better than the GT500 in certain respects. (weight, IRS, looks)
I also agree with the people who would prefer to build their car... if that's your thing, more power to you! I for one made the choice to spend Cobra money on a car that I can build, to one day compete with a Cobra in horsepower, and kill the average 03-04 Dyno Queen/Strip jocky in any autocross/open track event, and still hang in a stoplight confrontation...
Everyone has different tastes and goals for their car. If being the fastest at the strip is your goal, a built fox is pretty much the way to go. if high rwhp numbers and the ability to pass smog rings your bell, 03-04 Cobra all the way. Can an 03-04 Cobra beat a built fox at the strip? YES... but it'll cost alot more money. Can a fox or GT make more smog legal horsepower than a Terminator? YES, but it'll cost you...
In the end, everyone buys what they like for their own reasons. wether it be Mustangs of different years, LSX powered GM products, or even imported rice burners...
if i had to chose between a built fox or a Terminator... it's Cobra all the way.

Supras owners are the king of dyno queens. I saw a tt supra at a gas station a few weeks ago. Me: "how much hp are you making? him: 720HP. Me: what does it run at the track? him: never taken it to the track!"

Seriously, from my perspective, to each their own. Buy or build what you like - for you, not for your friends, your ex, your boys at the track, or whatever, for you. And if you want a Terminator, or think that a Terminator is the hottest thing since pornotube, then so be it. I love how the internet turns everyone into the phucking thought police.
i m here, surprised at how this thread blew up so quick. like I stated originally is that I like the style of the cobra and what the engine puts out, but i don't "JOCK IT" like some members seem to do. and thats fine, to each their own. and no i didnt go to the ls1 forums,, never, i went to the honda forums!

this thread is funny. it's turning into a little mustang civil war, lol. cafords is turning on each other.
almost every mustang that came off the factory line is a cookie cutter. there are a few rare ones that are untouchable, but for the most part we all drive "cookie cutter" mustangs. we're all in this hobby to be unique and this is where the fun is.
if i could afford it, i would have one of everything just because. bottom line is, let's all respect each others mustang and keep this hobby alive. if you're not john force, you really can't talk shit .

This is probably one of the better threads that have been on the board in a while. Nothing like a good "which car is best" debate where everyone is spitting their opinions and not going overboard.
Let's do it again!!!!

The 03 cobra is still one of the best mustangs ever made.
yep agreed. and agree with Terrance. only 5500 cobras or so made in 04.Think it was like 12 or 14k in 03. thought they made 10-15k machs each year? I had an 03 mach when it first came out.
Nope only 16,XXX Mach's produced in total.
19,XXX Cobra's produced total.
ahhh, all those 03's killed us lol
either way I Loved both cars. But love my cobra a whole lot more.
quote: Originally posted by EPIK: Well, I'm gonna end my part in this thread on this note, I respect 03/04 Cobra's. They look good, sound good, & perform good. All of the owners I have met on here are super cool like FstRyde3, 04Cobra408, & EastBay50 to name a few. Its mainly the cocky ass owners that look down on my car because its still in the 300rwhp club that annoy me. That might be the reason I get so heated when this debate comes up from time to time. I have'nt really had that experience with anybody on this site, but on other forums & at meets.
Truth be told, I like my car for what it is & Im happy with it, that is what matters to me. All you 03/04 Cobra owners are happy with your cars & thats all that matters right?
Thanks Dustin I TRY not to talk shit lol there is always going to be someone faster. To me Its all about having fun and doing what you want with your own car. I gotta get to the track a few more times to stay out of the "dyno king" category haha and get some real times
I did love my mach and would one day like to get another mach to park next to the cobra. Mach's are my 2nd favorite stang behind the 03/04, not including the classic's.
I just hate these threads , and people calling cobra's a dime a dozen or plain just to hate lol we all know thats not the case [ June 01, 2010, 03:34 AM: Message edited by: 04cobra408 ]

well I'll drop my worthless 2 cents..lol. I do plan one gettin a 04 Cobra in August/September (Lord willing). Why?? Because I really like the look of them. To me that is the best body style and I think it will be a timeless one. I never rode in one or drove one, but I love the way they look.

if you're going to start THAT argument, you should post stock for stock 04 Cobra vs. 04 CTS-V numbers....
that being said.....I'll take a CTS-V over a Cobra any day..... [ June 01, 2010, 12:50 PM: Message edited by: jordan_0806 ]

I have an 03 cobra so I guess im one of the lucky ones that can afford one. I love the car and everything but sometimes to me it feels a little bulky and heavy. I used to have an 89 notch and am currently in the market for another one. I'll tell you this if you put around 20k into a notch which is roughly how much good cobras are going for a terminator wouldnt come close to it. I love both cars so im not biased.
