what kind of cam are you running?? i might have the same rotating assembly as you Scat crank and rods with Probe forged pistons. also Looks like we have similar builds but im running a 260/269 solid roller, an 1150 Dominator carb and TFS heads.Could the gold metal shavings just be from a bronze distributor gear or cam thrust plate? or are you definately having oil pressure problems?

anyways i had Paul Kane modify my melling oil pump. He's here in the bay area and is well known on 460ford.com and good dude to deal with. he builds jet boat engines.

Just a heads up, ALL the bearings in my motor were gone (cam, Main and Rods) and the block was sleeved wrong so the block is junk too.
Good thing is i found the same block in my area for 200 dollars.
Also i am upgrading from my .588/.614 flat tappet cam to a .641/.647 hydraulic roller cam.
Hoping to make more power to the rear wheels, looking for 600rwhp but we'll see.
Heads and Intake are going to be ported and polished as well.

sound s good!! Now that my 533 is tuned better I'm hoping for 550rwhp through my c6. Are you sure you want to go with hydraulic roller? From what I've read, people have been having a hard time getting them to live on the 385 series.lifters too tall and bad pushrod angles. everyone on 460ford says its better to just go solid roller.

Paul Kane is involved in the build and he will argue that fact but there is a ton of knowledge and some beasts on 460ford.com

he was involved in mine too. he actually put my shortblock together and port matched my intake and recommended i go with a solid roller. Cam was ground by scottyj. If he has more confidence in the hyd. roller lifters now then i guess thats a good thing, wont make much if any more power than the solid flat tappets but the peace of mind of hydraulic is definately worth it. How much are they going for nowadays?

From what I've read, people have been having a hard time getting them to live on the 385 series.lifters too tall and bad pushrod angles. everyone on 460ford says its better to just go solid roller.
From what i have heard if i had the exact same cams one solid flat tappet in the same motor and one hydraulic roller. The hydraulic roller would make 15 more HP.
