I make over 60k, just moving cars. I do put in a lot of hours. If I figured it out probably would add up to a regular job per hour. The thing that is nice is I only really actual work for about an hour a day and the rest is just sitting behind the wheel.
Can't wait for my women to get through the CHP academy. Thats gona help TONS!!!

wrong about about the ease of getting hired and wrong about the job security of law enforcement (at least for another few years. The pay is correct though.

electrician apprentice. didnt start out at over 60k a year and it varies by county but i know the journeyman on my job made about $102k last year NO o.t. if so we are talking a max of 20 hrs o.t. before taxes in contra costa county

I work full time as a Spanish Interpreter from Home, Sell lots of items on ebay, work for my best friends tax company as a Interpreter too, Volunteer at the local senior center, have the house clean and food ready for my Handsome hubby when he gets home. I'm a wife. My hubby makes over 100K, he is an Air and Heat Technician, number 1 on what he does, every month he brings his plaque of Top Sales Volume. I'm very proud of him. He gave me the option to stay home and not work, but I want to make as much as him so we can retired soon and live a better life.
In my opinion you can make a lot of money anywhere, really. You just need to have the motivation and passion to always be the best.
Air and Heat techs don't make this much, usually 50k I think, but my hubby doubles it because he works his A... off and he has passion.
Find something you like and give it all you want and make your wife work... well if she wants too.

My advice is that if you put in the hard work up front, one day, you will catch your break. Up until this year I had been working two jobs (65+hrs/wk), probably pulling in about 55k-60k between the two jobs.
I've been in the recruiting industry for about 4+ years now and started off making about $16-18/hr. If you like people and enjoy lining people up with career opportunities, think about the recruiting realm. Tech Recruiters are in high demand these days. You don't necessarily need a degree, but you have to hustle and be able to sell yourself well.
Long story short, Google knocked on my door and now I make 100k+ recruiting Software Engineers and Programmers. It's not easy and it is quite stressful, but in the end, I worked my ass off and I made it.
