Thoughts? Opinions? While I'm in no way, shape or form a Giants fan, but it sucks that our teams have pretty much lost it. Giants fans, why does your team suck? My fellow A's fans, what's your take on our downfall? Is it the slump our bats have had? Or are you like me and blame the Cespedes trade? I personally believe we should have NEVER traded him. So, discuss please...

I'am disgusted with the A's. I also believe strongly the cespedes trade was the beginning of what i call "THE MELTDOWN" This is Mr. beans worst move ever!I feel that removing cespedes from the lineup got rid of the guy that completes the roster. Just look back over the cespedes era all the times he was out for wrist problems we lost a large percentage of games.

that trade made me sick, people keep using his numbers to justify the trade but ever since the trade the A's been on a down hill and it was too late to make a come back. we have to keep mariners behide us and win more games then KC just to stay in the wild card, then we gotta hope LAA just have a dramatic slump and lose 10 games lol wishful thinking.

As much as I like most of what Billy Beane does, he got an adverse chemical reaction to the chemistry that was there when Cespedes was in the lineup. When Cespedes left, it was like Donaldson and Moss had trouble shouldering the load....and still do.
I think Billy Beane blew this one with the rent-a-Lester trade. Hope they find some way to pull it together. Last night was rock-bottom! ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

Your assessment of the giants is way off, they are only 2 games back and winning series after series. Don't be surprised when giants fans chime in and let you know how stupid you are.

pitching wins in the playoffs maybe Beane actually wanted to get out of the first round for once! and yeah, you're an idiot thinking the giants are done. 2 games back and still a 3 game series left against the dodgers. While the dodgers just got crushed 16-2 yesterday against one of the worst teams in baseball. go home.

The reason I didn't have a problem with the trade is the fact that the A's wanted to get more pitching. The writing was on the wall that cespedes wasn't going to be coming back anyways. They traded him when he was worth the most stock....... But the gamble didn't pay off in the end. If by some miracle Oakland can pick up a wildcard spot then they still have a chance. Highly unlikely but only time will tell.

Wtf are you talking about? Giants are 2 games out for first place. What is your demise? The As dont have clutch players when you need them.

When I woke up and I turned on the TV and saw Cespedes had been traded my stomach dropped to the floor. I knew it right away this was the worst possible trade scenario. Who in their right mind trades away they're #4 hitter in the middle of a playoff race. The A's had the most runs in baseball and had given up the least amount of runs so for Billy Beane to make that trade made no sense. The writing was on the wall and Beane ignored it. The A's record with cespedes was above and beyond what the record was without him, and no they don't have the spark plug in the middle of the order, or that hitter that pitchers feared and pitched around. Now that he's gone moss has been struggling donaldsons numbers are down, Stephen Vogt has to hit clean up, and you don't have no real defense in the outfield besides Reddick. I can go on forever but I'm so disgusted on how bad these guys collapsed its sickening. I hope they don't make the playoffs, I hope Lester leaves and I hope for once Billy Beane gets held responsible for some of the stupid moves he makes. Thanks Billy for blowing up a special team you Douche.

A's fan for over 25 years, yes I'm an old bastard, I'm tired of this team man. They spend no money, the stadium is beyond a shithole that was just re upped for another decade, and them justifying the Cespedes trade with well we were gonna lose him next year anyways is absolute bullshit! It's hard to spend any cash on the team tickets gear etc when we all know damn well every year is just gonna be status quo.
Look across the Bay, Giants and yes the Niners spend money get new stadiums win 2 rings and appear in the playoffs regularly. The small ball shit and being cheap in Oakland doesn't work!!

I'd love to see a new ownership team buy it, bud a stadium and start trying to make a run every year. The problem starts with owners being greedy. I know I done attend games because
1. I work way too much
2. I don't wanna buy a ticket and line dick heads pockets. I can support the team by watching that shit on TV or the radio.

Thats what happens when people are mad because their team blew it and they know it, the A's blew it and the giants wont take the last series from La because the dodgers are playing kershaw and greinke, greinke has never lost to sf and kershaw...well we all know he is the best pitcher in the majors

I actually said both teams suck, I know my team sucks at least I can admit it, that's the problem with you SF fans. You're self absorbed and just ignorant. We held the best record for 2.5 months, the Giants held it for 2 weeks, get your information right. There's no excuse for either team, we might not even make the playoffs, yes, we were poised to go to the WS and we fell the fuck off. Your team and payroll says you should be contenders and you could be very easily knocked out of the wild card too.
