A 10% od crank pulley with a 3.3 pulley should put you around 13-14psi.
revving to 7k rpm's like he does, it should be more than 13-14 psi..
Gotcha

there ya go. Thats my configuration as well. Should be good for 15-17lbs. might be less with your topend.
Love seeing quick 2v's..
Have you had any belt slip issues with that setup?

Got one of the heads off and started to brake it down for new valve seals and to lap the valves.
I need a garage. Doing a build like this at an appartment car port sucks.

I started putting the longblock together and hit a snag. Found out that i have a bent valve on cyl #6, which is very surprising seeing how well it ran before i pulled the heads off. Looks like i need to track down a valve since patriot performance was sold to mod maxx. I hope they can help me out. So these heads were on a built motor that kissed that valve when it blew. So i bought a new valve, lapped it and ran it like that for years. But i guess when the first valve bent it hit the seat and knocked it off kilter. And a new valve hitting a uneven seat bent that valve also. So now i need to get another one. I also need to send the head to a machine shop to see if they can cut the valve seat or replace it. The other head checked out so i went ahead and put it on after i put all the arp hardware on.
Also took apart the intake manifold to start porting the runners, but ran out of the round flapper bits. Going to finish it up once i get some more. [ 2014-04-02, 10:25 PM: Message edited by: vortek01gt ]

Damn that's crazy with the valve being bent. Your car was running pretty damn good for having a bent valve lol. Keep it coming bro it's coming along good.

So I know I haven't updated this thread for a while. Bills, the bent valve, and financial obligations kinda kicked me in the nuts on this one lol, but Im past that and I've been gathering parts for the build and getting close to having everything I need.
Me and my wife took a trip to Tahoe this weekend and while we were there we made a trip to Summit Racing to get parts since its only 20-30 min from where we were staying. Not pictured but I ordered the replacement intake valve I needed, should be here in a week
New cobra hat/twin pumps. Im going to do the pprv delete soon also.

Another update. I decided to put new rings and hone the cylinders. Thanks to a co-worker he had an almost complete set of rings for it, all I need to do was call up seal-pro and order 8 bottom compression rings for the kit. I m not going to lie, I kinda boo booed some of the rings and cut the gap too wide(hey its my first time). So I just need to call and get a few more.
While I was talking to Don at rpm we decided that it would be a good idea to get all new valves for the heads as my old ones were starting to mushroom around the keepers. So I got a new set of manley intake/exhaust valves, and the heads are currently at the machine shop getting worked on! 5 angle valve job, resurface, set the installed height clean up the guides
everything taken apart ooohhh SVT Manley! nice hone Almost all gapped and ready to go(except for 3 bottom rings) My cars new home until the motor gets finished.

Thanks. The whole shortblock is factory 03-04 cobra. I got it for a good price and didnt want to mess with putting the guts into another block. I know i could save some weight with the aluminum block but this one was a complete pretty much ready to go setup, just honed and ringed it for peace of mind.

Thankfully no it never blew. Not sure what to do with it after this one is done. No one is going to want to pay for a stock 4.6shortblock.........that i beat the hell out of lol

Why not swap the stock cobra piston? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought they were part of the weak link in cobras? Nice build bro and good to see people building fast 2V
