Salaries for 2013 season:
San Francisco $142,180,333 Oakland $68,577,000
5 more games seems like a better season. Don't you think?

2012 Detroit Tigers Payroll: $133,060,667 2012 SF Giants Payroll: $131,980,298
The last time the Oakland A's WON a WS they had a HIGHER payroll than the team they Swept...
The last time the SF Giants WON a WS they had a LOWER payroll than the team they swept...
Who gives a crap how little you spend to get to the playoffs if you can't make it past the first round?
The only thing that the A's having a tiny salary has got them is 23 years of "ALMOST" making it [ 2013-10-11, 08:42 AM: Message edited by: 00SLVRGT ]

This always makes me laugh. As a fan, why the fuck do you care? Doesn't cost you a dime! See what your team saving extra money got you? Nada. Lol what a joke. Maybe if your fans turned up 45,000 deep every game your ownership would put a few bucks into players, stadiums etc..
Giants won two WS with middle of the pack spending and top of the pack earning. Utilization of a good farm system. All our pitching came from our system. Even our big hitters like posey and Sandoval came from our system. The giants are not the Yankees or the Dodgers when it comes to spending. Last huge free agent they snagged was Zito 7 years ago. And I guess Rowand.

it actually does cost you a lot. Us the fans pay an absurd amount for food and drink so baseball owners can distribute that to put a winning team on the field. However just recently tv deals are the primary source of income for pro teams. Back to the topic I'm so damn tired of being a fan of the Oakland A's who always find a wake to choke when the games matter. Six times in a row they lose in a do or die game. The A's can't compete with some of these pay rolls in baseball. When they develop talent other teams buy it ( Jason Giambi, Miguel Tejada, soon to be Cespedes) It's frustrating and Lou Weolf is a real douche for not coming to grips with the fact that San Jose is out of the picture. He's holding the team hostage and this money ball crap doesn't work in baseball. We need stars like Posey, Cain, Verlander, Trout not Eric Sogard or Steven Vogt

It's actually all supply and demand. I just read your first line. That's it.
Giants have a good product that people want to see. At a venue people want to be at. So it costs more.
Athletics have a garbage stadium, and be it a talented young team. Not exactly a stacked roster. Only 20,000 turn up per game as it is. So they can't demand much. (Or they would)
If the As owners were even a little higher into the bottom third of spenders, they could take on a team like the Tigers.
Say whatever you want about the Giants. They get it done. They give us a great place to watch the games. We have the best announcers. Players that are fun to watch. And hope year in, year out.

Yall are gonna lose Cespedes and Crisp since the A' dont wanna fork out any $$ for their players.

These are the real numbers. You can interpret them however you would like guys.

That's great. You posted one year. The way I read these numbers is, Fan attendace doesn't guarantee rings. Yeah it helps bringing in more money to the organization...... But that doesn't guarantee a winning season. You're record this year proves my theory has merit.

No, it's just nice when your players have a packed stadium to play in. What I see is as soon as AT&T was built, our attendance went through the roof, and has not come down at all. It most certainly has helped contribute to the two recent rings. They have the money to put those teams on the field.
Caps off to Oakland staying in the shithole and staying at 20,000 annually!

No. Giants since the stadium have had solid attendance. Giants did horrible this year and had the highest attendance percentage in the league.

we all get it but do we care? NO. historically the A's have always been the better baseball team deal with it. your two championships in three years (big whoop) took how long?
