This is probably gonna shock a lot of people, but I might be thinking about finally letting go of my 2003 Mach 1. I love this car, but I'm tired of having 2 weekend toys, & I need to get into something I will drive more often... Anyhow, here goes...

2003 Mach 1, 5 speed, Torch Red. 56,9XX miles. Entire top end rebuilt by Drew @ AED less than 1,000 miles ago.

=Performance mods=

-Maximum Motorsports K member, A arms, Bumpsteer kit, 325lb front coil overs, 225lb rear coil overs, caster/camber plates, full length subframe connectors, panhard bar, & XD lower control arms
-Bilstein HD Struts/shocks.
-Energy suspension polyurethane motor & transmission mounts.
-Centerforce dual friction clutch.
-03-04 Cobra aluminum flywheel.
-Maximum Motorsports clutch quadrant & firewall adjuster.
-MGW shifter.
-FRPP 4.10 gears.
-SSBC slotted brake rotors.
-C&L 85mm maf & intake tube.
-Roy's 3/8" intake spacer.
-LCD head cooling mod.
-Mac LT headers & o/r h pipe.
-Custom Bassani catback with SLP tips.
-Xcal2 Tuned by Shaun @ AED 309rwhp/323rwtq. also includes 2 race tunes that I have yet to try out.

=Cosmetic mods=

-03-04 Cobra spoiler & mirrors.
-8000k HID's.
-15% tint all around
-Billet shorty antenna
-"Powered by Ford" coil covers.
-A lot of misc. interior billet items.
-18X9 & 18X10 deep dish silver FR500 replicas.
-BF Goodrich KDW2's 265/35/18 & 295/35/18 (plenty of life left).

Anyhow, I think thats about it. The car drives & looks like new, & has the best suspension money can buy. Both the paint, interior, & engine bay are super clean. Although I raced the car a little bit, this car is babied & is a garage queen 99% of the time. Oil changed less than every 3k miles since I rarely drive it... Its very hard to part with this car, but I am looking into getting a nice performance sedan... The car blue books @ $14,140 in this condition & mileage, but with all the mods the car has I am pricing it @ $16,000. LMK if anybody is interested.

BTW, this is a feeler, so I might end up changing my mind, but I think at this point, I am leaning towards letting her go.

Thanks,

-Dustin

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. Like I said this is just a feeler to see if there is any actual interest. I will most likely change my mind anyhow because it is hard to part with this car after 4 years of ownership...

LOL guys. I just went out to the garage & now I'm already having 2nd thoughts.

Ian, I hear what your saying, but I own the Notch outright, & I am still making payments on the Mach... Sometimes I feel it would be wiser if I actually daily drove the car I'm making payments on, & used the car I own, & that is CHEAP to mod & fix to beat on...

Alex, IF I do replace it, I will be replacing it with an E39 M5, Cadillac CTS-V, or Audi S4...

Hmmm... just curious, what sedan starts with a T, & ends with an R?

lol now thats what i call representing on the farm.

dustin,
those are all good practical replacements for a daily driver but would they fill the void of that mach which uve put a lot of blood, sweat and hard earned cash into? what usually helps me calm the urge to sell is driving the car after that though and then i quickly realize i like the car but for ur situation being that u have another stang i can easily see how ud be willing to let go one or the other in favor of something more practical. i guess in a perfect world ud have the 2 stangs and the cts-v.

Seriously?

I understand selling the Mach but don't age yourself before your time. Sedans are for old dudes with gray hairs and rugrats to cart around. LOL.

The M5 is sick but beware of the maintenance costs. Don't buy an S4... unless you like break downs and cars that are tough to mod. I say CTS-V.

I guess a G8 GXP wasn't cool enough to make the list. [burnout]

LOL. Well, I am getting old, & what hair I do have left is turning slightly gray... I am aware of the maintenance cost of the M5, & thats what scares me away, bat MAN those cars are sexy as hell to me!!!! I have done my research on the E39 M5's, & they seem to be reliable, but parts cost a ton...

The CTS-V is the best bang for the buck, & alot cheaper to maintain, but not as nice as the M5 IMO. The S4 is bad@ss too, but the reliabilty scares me. The GXP would be at the top of the list, but they are out of my price range, & hard to find anyhow...

Well, I would miss the Mach, thats for sure, but at this point I need something that I want to hop in & drive & be comfy in. The Mach drives great, gets decent mileage, & is super reliable, but since it has full suspension, its not the most comfy car to drive on long trips...

Having two toys and no car that you can jump in and comfortably drive anywhere/anytime is all bad!

I say sell the Mach1, get the M5, put down 550rwhp in the fox, and give streakmatt a run for his money!

[worship] lol

I think some people are missing the point of what Epik is trying to do here. Hes looking for something more practical for where he is in his life right now. If he wanted to take his lady to say S.F for the day, he doesn't want to hop in his stiff riding Mach all the way down there. He needs something comfy and smooth that he can cruise in. A nice practical everyday driver. Plus hes not looking to "Mod" this next car either. Thats what his Fox is for. As much as I want him to keep it as well, I totally understand where hes coming from and I would probably do the same thing if I were in his situation.
