For a cruise, no problem my good man, but for this, it should be like a round table discussion. I don't mind criticism, but I like some voices for this since it's for all of us and has more moving parts than just bringing your car.

Ok well my vote is for Vacaville/Fairfield area. Sac folks will have to drive as far as San Jose folks. I'm sure there is a big ass lot for us to set up camp and chill for the afternoon. Its a decent drive from Sac and my car shouldn't be full of bugs by the time I get there!

There are def. a few park in fairfield and vacaville that would work perfect for this event.

I Understand both sides but CA Fords needs to finally do something that can bring us all together 1 spot, 1 location. 2 diff spots is cool but still keeping us seperate!! It would be nice 2 finally meet some of the shit talkers face 2 face!!! FR50 Hint!! Hint!! Hell we all have Mustangs & the CAfords car show isnt going on so lets do this right & plan 1 big BBQ!!!! Thats just my 2 cents!!

IMO, there should be only 1 official "CALIFORNIA FORDS.COM" bbq...
I did some researching on Mapquest, & it looks like vallejo would be about in the middle between San Jose, Sacramento, Stockton, & modesto & these would probably be the furthest points most CaFords members would be coming from... Its roughly 60 miles, & a 1 hour drive from Sac, & its 67 miles, & a 1 hr 15 minute drive from San Jose. It would be about 70 miles, & 1 hr 20 minutes from Stockton, & 90 miles, 1 hr 40 minutes from Modesto....
Anybody know any good spots in Vallejo??
But, on another note, I like the place 89FoxLX recommended which was Antioch. Its smack dab in the middle of Sac, San Jose, Frisco, Stockton, Modesto, & everywhere else in between. Its nice out there too, it has the Delta Breeze, & there should be plenty of parks or what not to set something up.... What do you guys think??? [ April 03, 2009, 08:34 PM: Message edited by: EPIK ]

Dan Foley park in vallejo would be a good place. And if I can remember, there is a big parking lot there where everyone can park together.

I'm going to drive by the park today and post more info tonight. I was thinking that everyone can bring something like a big potlick. One person could bring hotgdogs, one person could bring soda, one person could bring hamburger buns etc.

Yeah I think everyone should bring something aswell like a big pot luck!! Everyone on here is grown enough to drive so they should be able to handle bringing something. It sounds like fr5.0 found a spot so what dates are we all talking about???

I strongly disagree, who ever is in charge of the bbq should collect a $10 fee from everyone and they should buy hotdogs and hamburgers its way better
Remember this is CaFords BBQ there will be many people and you know theres always those "free loader"
I think $10 per person and you could sever 1hotdog 1bag of chips and 1soda can all for $10 or 1hamburger 1bag of chips and 1soda
that should be more then fair considering who ever is making has to buy it all, buy plates, napkins, whatever is needed for the grill and he still has to cook it? And the rest of the time we would do the show&shine
well thats just my imput..... 1994steeda

Actually now they want you to reserve a spot, its like 50 bucks. Theres no more of that gettin there hella early shit anymore i guess. But another thang we could do is go to the smashin spot behind El Torrito (yall know where im talkin about lol) theres a decent parking lot back there with some grilles and benches and shit. I'd be coo. That spot is usually not packed.
Actually if folks wanna meet up near San Leandro just to chill theres gonna be a car show at Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, few CAfords members goin to enter. www.arroyocarshow.com
Honestly since this is too soon to plan why not just make it a Bay Area BBQ and Sac can just do there own thang too. Then, with more time, we can all plan a all CAFORDS BBQ like later on this summer say like Antioch area or somethin. [ April 05, 2009, 04:35 PM: Message edited by: Turbizzy ]

i think the bay bbq is a good idea, and that would also be a good spot to get some ideas for much better planned out cafords bbq cause i love the board and everything but its lookin like we need a designated planner and some designated people to help out, we can put some names to faces and its a lot harder for people to flake if were present and they agree to somethin and dont come through, now ive never been to a ca fords event cause im fairly new but i know i want it to be well planned and a high turnout, no matter who shows, shit talkers, to advice givers, in the end were all there for the love of mustangs. if its gonna happen dont rush it and do it right. theres another 2 cents do with it what you like!

I have narrowed the GTG to two possible locations. Pena adobe park in vacaville and Laurel Creek in fairfield. pena Adobe has alot of parking but Laurel crrek has a much better picnic area and has more things like a baseball field and a play area for kids etc. I will call the city tommorow to see if anyone has the picnic area reserved. I think we had better all get to whichever spot we choose early because all the parking space might get taken quick with this nice weather.
