Livermore would be cool. Its a good half way point. From Sac raceway to livermore is 45min, from South SJ its 35-45min, from SF area 50 min, and about 50min from Modesto area. Seems like a good middle ground. Plus at Del Valle lake, ya there is a $3 gate fee for the park, but we don't have to worry about getting tossed out for the big group. As long as everyone plays it cool, no bs we can have a great time!

+1 on having it in the Livermore area. Vacaville/Fairfield is a little too far from Fremont/Union City/Hayward area. [ March 31, 2009, 02:20 PM: Message edited by: SydeWaySix ]

Yeah lets pick a spot. I would be better if we ALL hooked up and showed all of our cars. Separating the bbq's into valley and the bay isn't gonna be as big. no matter where the bbq is, we can even have a mini cruise right after (granted the drivers aren't faded) I'm in sac area and I will drive anywhere livermore or vacaville. Its the same to me.

I second that Although I'd prefer Marina because I know Livermore gets pretty hot and allergies are bad out there. Plus, Marina has a lot of parking and we can take nice pics out there

On a side note...theres a park out in Milpitas in the hills off of Calaveras where Cafords held a meet a few years back. I know its not really a halfway point, but jsut wanted to throw it out there.

Hey Guys,
If you are serious about this, it needs to be planned farther out. 1 Week notice aint gonna cut it.
Lets do some serious planning and make it a car show/BBQ
Lets get a spot like the college or, Lake DelValle or Lake Shadow CLiffs in Livermore
(Livermore makes sense for the SAC and central Valley peops!)

if you want it to be a CAFORDS BBQ with cars from all over then you need to think about the sac people and people from the valley..Thats about a 2 hour drive from sac to the east bay..I agree, the marina is a good location but if you want a good turn out..meet somewhere in between and split the drive time in half for everyone!

Why not meet in Antioch? There's lots of parks around there or you could meet at their Marina and get good pictures. It seems like a good halfway point from san jose and sacramento. Probably 1hr-1.5hr drive from each and every direction. Just an idea and location to look into.

OK, I think were going nowhere fast. Sorry all, I know I threw the idea outhere, but it's for all of us to have a good time. It's decision making time.
We know we have 3 choices: 1) Halfway 2) Bay area 3) Sac area
It's after all a CA Fords meeting. Let's all collectively pick a place. It's won't be great for me as for any other people. We all have to make a small sacrifice to get outhere.
I can head this, but I won't want to be alone on it. I need the info and everybody's input as to what you want. Is our day and everybody should have a say on it, but only for so long.
We also need to know any parks or areas, park laws, time of closing. Are we bringing collectively food or your own? Plan for ultra-faded people and/or designated driver's. Set up, times of event, cleaning?. Who has a good BBQ set that they can bring? how r we going to pitch in so that some people are not let paying the bill? any amusement like strippers, DJ (hu hum EPIK) and the such.
I say we make another thread and set this up. [ March 31, 2009, 10:55 PM: Message edited by: JOEFOX87 ]

I think whoever is going to plan the show/bbq should choose the exact location. We all know that no one will be 100% satisfied with where its going to be held, but if someone is going to take the time to book a place and set everything up, then they should be able to decide where its going to be. Just my opinion...
Joefox...if you're going to take plan it all, I think it should be up to you to decide where you want it to be. In all honesty, if someone wants to go, they will go wherever it's going to be
