No, if it exploded they were probably dead. Ive been to a lot of car fires and never seen one explode. the car looked beat up too, im sure it wasnt a 20mph crash, judging by the car parts all over the street. At the point they were video taping from, they were without a doubt dead and unsavable.
I assume he lost control at high speeds possibly around a bend? or he came into a corner too fast that was tighter than he anticipated. [ 2013-12-01, 08:33 PM: Message edited by: Saleen 00-0768 ]

If someone was there right away with a fire extinguisher and the fire actually started small like a normal car fire maybe but from the video i have seen only a fire engine would be putting that fire out. I heard the car exploded though and the explosion would have killed anyone inside if they weren't already dead.

I don't think that's funny at all. Being a car guy and knowing Paul walker was a car guy there's a mutual respect amongst us motorists we all know what we do is dangerous and life can be lost at any moment. I'm not a fan of the furious movies and they do make me laugh but death in the motoring community does not. I enjoyed some other walker work like running scared, joy ride, varsity blues etc me being 30 yrs old he is an actor from my time and it's sad he he died. Rip

RIP to the most famous gearhead of the last decade, and his buddy as well. The F&F series may be cheesy as hell, but car movies are always awesome none the less. I found the adress to the scene of the accident and its right of I-5. How many people going to Knotts in April would interested in stopping by on the way down to pay respects?

I was 11 years old when the first movie came out, Never really had interest in the whole car scene prior to watching it. I clearly remember my friend and i looking at each other after the movie was over and said "i want to live that lifestyle". Suddenly i had every Need For Speed game you can buy, I was obsessed with Grand Turismo and constantly went to the arcade to play all the racing games there. Yeah looking back, The movies where kind of cheesy and over the top but they and more specifically Paul's character is what drew me into the car scene.
Also, Paul wasn't that guy who just played the part of the movie, The guy was one of us. A huge gear head who was a car nut as much as the average people who never let the fame get to his head. Didnt have any problems chatting about cars with regular people. Thats what made me respect him more than anything.
Just got back from a meet up in tribute to him. Was super cool and an ass load of cars showed up. [ 2013-12-02, 12:14 AM: Message edited by: Robb ]

quote: Walker's generosity
Tales of the actor's philanthropy are not new. CNN confirmed one story from a decade ago when Walker noticed a young U.S. military veteran shopping with his fiance for a wedding ring in a Santa Barbara jewelry store.
"The groom was just back from duty in Iraq, and he was going to be deployed again soon and wanted to buy a wedding ring, but he said he just could not afford it," saleswoman Irene King told CNN. "I don't think the soldier realized how expensive those rings are, about $10,000."
Although Walker noticed them, the couple apparently did not know who he was, King said.
"Walker called the manager over and said, 'Put that girl's ring on my tab,' " she said. "Walker left all his billing info, and it was a done deal. The couple was stunned. She was thrilled and could not believe someone did this."
King called it "the most generous thing I have ever seen."

Great post bro, sad to see him go. I saw a pic of Tyrese at the crash site and it looked like he was inconsolable that goes to show how much people really cared for this guy. RIP

It's like a flawed design by Porsche
It's not a flawed design. The car is setup from the factory to go as fast as possible through corners which means it's setup a little loose. 99.9% of production cars are setup to understeer because understeer is safe. The car demands your 100% attention. Nobody knows what happened but I bet the driver either got distracted by something he wasn't expecting or the car had a mechanical failure. Bottom line, it is extremely risky to drive fast in an uncontrolled environment. Very sad situation.
RIP to a fellow gear head.
