These are the last pictures of the Fastback i am going to post/take until its painted. The underside of the hood is almost perfect (the way i want it, i kinda want to keep it rough looking in the cowl area because it is a fibergass hood)

Underside of the hood is painted.
I just need to resand the body in some over spray areas and then i am going to paint it. Probably do it in 2 weeks when i get laid off for winter.

Your getting there Dana. It has'nt really taken You long considering You started with a real fixer and have put some nice hardware into it ![[Wink]](wink.gif) . If You will just stop buying gun's, night vision goggles, & misc. bullshit You will be done alot quicker ![[Razz]](tongue.gif) .

I can't wait to paint this car. Once the paint is done and i have wetsanded it, it should be time for next years calender so i will definitely submit a picture of it.

Color sanded the car. Looks pretty good. i still haven't seen the car in sun light though ![[Frown]](frown.gif) Its been raining or cloudy on my days off and when i get home its dark. In the second picture the paint looks cloudy cause i haven't cleaned off the rubbing compound or polisher residue.

What process did u go through 2 color sand it?
sanding with 1500 sand paper and then using rubbing compound to buff out the scratches and then using a polishing compound to polish it.

As i work at a body shop and have to sand and buff almost everyday, i would suggest that after you 1500, the go over it with 2500, and then again with 3000. And as far as buffing goes, if you can get your hands on the rite stuff i suggest u do a 4 stage buff, Wool pad first, white foam bad 2nd, grey foam pad 3rd, and finally a blue foam pad third. Fist 2 stages u use compound, the 3rd polish and the forth a type of polish called perfect finish its blue. Just my 2 cents.

does the forth type of polish really make it shine?
When i look into the paint it looks like all the scratches are gone from the sand paper.

Yea it does a lot its used on dark colors more often but when i do anything to my truck i always use it and it really helps to make sure swirl marks dont show up after a day or two. But thats not saying the car doesnt look amazing its really came a long way.

i am hoping waxing it will make it really shine. i would like to make it shine like it did right after we finished the last coat of clear.

all autometer gauges, the dash is all brushed aluminum, black leather seats with black carpet and door panels, i have a custom center console for a 6 inch GPS/DVD/CD player and the rest is just stock.
