This Mac Dre thread has me puzzled. SO for all fans of his on this site (and there are quite a few) post 5 songs of his that would make me a fan. I don't see where the hype comes from.
You all know I know my shit when it comes to music, so no need to post "you gotta listen to the words" or "his lyrics are deep" lol. Just post and make me a believer...

He rapped about what he did and what he was about, so that alone got me as a fan, I listen to anybody who keeps it REAL, Mac Dre was as REAL as it gets. Did that get him a multi-million dollar deal with a record-company? No, did he get killed for it? I believe so.

"keeping it real" makes someone great these days? I listened to everything and I won't put it past em for keeping it real...but he was sub-par even when he was out. But I'm not bashing the dude, I just was trying to see the hype. I don't.

Mac Dre was entertaining as hell. He was a character. He was the definition of swag (never do I use that word, nor like it. But its him) Lyrics aren't always deep. But can be on certain songs. Dude just always spit straight game.

To be a successful bay area rapper you gotta be street and be real about what you rap about. Big reason why no one is on a national level. It looks as if you don't care about that concept. Nothing wrong with that tho.
