my friend has a problem with his 95 5.0 it stays reved up between shifts and even when he puts it in neutral it seems to stay at 2k then it drops down after a few seconds...what do we look for and how do we fix it

its a 306 h/c/i ...would a tune be needed

tps set? vacuum leaks? if not depending on the set up you would need a tune.

its weird when fired up it idles fine when i drive it stays reved up at 2k even when coasting in neutral when i come to a complete stop idle drops after few seconds... it does need a tune though

clean out the iac. my car did this to me once. cleaned that sucker out and it idled like normal.

My car does this too ... haven't been driving it because this ! When i start mine it revs to 2500 and sticks there and doesn't lower to much ....

tps is possibility like everyone else said i have 2 tps sensors for some reason the brand new one make my idle hang for about 3 sec after i let the gas up between shifts also if you have a after market tb like bbk make sure your butter fly has a lil gap i read something on vaccume lock on bbks
this helped me fix my probs but yea im no mechanic just tryin to help
