need 2 x of the rear (2809-a) and SOME cars also need the front (2810) which required mods to the e-brake handle to eliminate the self adjuster so this manual adjustable cable can be used.

my `91 has a turbocoupe rear (4 lug disc) with just the 2809 rear cables and it works perfect.

my `89 has 5 lug cobra brakes and I also only have the 2809 rear cables and it works perfect as well.

Both took about a month of driving and setting the parking brake every day to get the auto adjuster working right.

On the flipside my buddy has an 89 with a turbocoupe rear and his parking brake doesn't work at all with the 2809 cables, and he needs to do the center cable mod.

what blind said.

(2)FMS M-2809-A ebrake cables for '87-92 cars
(1) FMS M-2810-A center Ebrake cable

i used the center e-brake cable and did the handle mod just to have peace of mind. the rear brakes will drag if it's needed.

you'll also want to add an adj. prop. valve. gut or eliminate the stock one and add the adjusting unit. but drive it first and see how it feels to you.

btw, i would have just done the 5-lug conversion. haha, just giving you a hard time buddy.

the easiest way to swap the rear cables is to slide the closed end of a 1/2" wrench up the back of the cable and jam it against the prongs that grab the chassis to hold the stock ones in place, then just pull them out the other side [Smile] Otherwise you could spend all day trying to squeeze those to remove with a pair of pliers.

I would recommended just trying the rear cables first, and only doing the center mod if you have to, it looks like a bitch to me but I'd have to take it apart and bring it to somebody to weld it for me...
