IN the game, thats a diffrent story, but after you showerd, and dress for an interview, you fucking wear what you want to wear. BULLSHIT. Its not like they do this every time,i see them where tuxs lots of times. but who cares im not in the nba, rule is a rule now they have to obey it
Iverson, whose do-rag will now be banned, recently told the Philadelphia Daily News that "just because you put a guy in a tuxedo, it doesn't mean he's a good guy."

Boss wants to set a dress code? Fine, obey it or bail. I am forced to wear a uniform everyday and I am an adult. Think I would rather wear shorts and flip flops everyday? Absolutely! Even when not in the uniform I still have to wear slacks and a shirt. Would much rather be in jeans and a T.
Don't feel sorry for these guys

They are not on the court playing... They are injured... If I was hurt on the job and was forced to come in just to watch, i would want to wear what i wasa comfortable in. This rule also includes players watching the all-star game. They are there to enjoy the game also. So why should they be forced into a uniform?

Cock sucker-ass David Stern w/ another one of his bright ideas. No wonder why the number of NBA viewers and fans has decreased in the last 5 years.
Dude it's BASKETBALL anyway way you look at it. It's a sport for fun and competition. I would understand if they were in a an office environment and it was essential to keep a professional look, but it's not. You should be able to wear whatever the hell you want. When your off the court no one is paying any attention to you anyways, they're watching the fukkin game. It's a fuckin sport. Let's see them try to fire Allen Iverson if he doesn't comply w/ the rules, do you think that would really happen. C'mon now

Role models, huh. Hint if you are looking to NBA for role models there is already something wrong w/ you . Why again should they look more professional? Next thing you know you'll want them to bann swearing and want them to dress-up while playing. They get paid to play. Other than that they can do whatever. As HIPPO and others have said, "these guys are professionals" and therefore should act and dress the part. It's not too much to ask of these multi-gazzillion dollar players to wear a suit to their games to show professionalism so the people can see that they are professional and not just overpaid kids. The coaches in the NBA are already required to wear suits.
EVERY, EVERY, EVERY(did I mention EVERY?)other sport leagues have a professional dress code, I was suprised that the NBA didn't have one...and IMO should've all along. I think it's a great idea. I mean, I had to wear NICE clothes to games in HS and suits in college. I remember I showed up for a game in sweats...guess who didn't play that game?...and I was a starter...Never made that mistake again.

Most of the owners wanted a dress code also. Before and after a game you are representing the team and should dress as such. This was never a issue back in the day with people like Magic and Jordan. They took pride in representing there teams. When you are not at a NBA function dress however you like. Most people in the work world have a dress code. Deal with it!!!!

EXACTLY, and every other sport has a dress code so what makes the NBA so special? There not, and many kids look up the NBA players as role models (I do not because im not a basketball fan) You know what is funny is all the people saying that its BS having a dress code are the same ones who pop off in threads about "fuck the police" [ October 19, 2005, 03:33 PM: Message edited by: boostin1.8 ]

So once they wear the required uniform they won't be spoiled ass NBA players anymore?
Basketball players have to be professional now? I guess there goes the braids, the long hair cuts, the swearing, the tattoos, the extra long shorts, chewing gum, etc., C'mon man are you serious. What happens if you dont' dress in uniform does it mean you are not a professional basketball player? I dont' get why you guys agree, do you like looking at the nice suits on the sidelines or the players on the court. [ October 19, 2005, 03:40 PM: Message edited by: CLEEN 50 ]

So let me get this straight. You're upset because the other sports have a dress code and the NBA doesn't . If your not an NBA fan why does it matter one way or the other? DUDE it's FREAKIN SPORT not a grand ball. I guess theres alot of people who are bitter because they have to wear a uniform, and think "if I have to wear one so should everyone. I guess I'm to used to the Genentech life where we wear what ever we want, and I can promise you that we display a way higher level of professionalism than the NBA displays. What I don't get is why you even care if they have a dress code or not. Doesn't effect you. You or any other fan can still wear saggy pants and oversize team jersey or your leather chaps and wife beater. [ October 19, 2005, 03:51 PM: Message edited by: sharkattack ]

All the money that these guys make big deal if they have to dress better. It's a non issue as far as i'm concerned. Some of them dress like gangsters after the game anyway.

Just because I can relate to being forced to wear something you don't want to for a stupid reason. Alot of things don't affect us but we all have something to say about them anyways don't we, so whats you point. You obviously cared enough to reply so I guess that puts you in the same boat. I thought this was the general forum where we could post anything we want.
