push rod engines have no real benefit over ohc engine. yes they are simpler, go for it if your into simple things. expect for gm and chrysler everyone has ditched ohv design.
Benefits are cheaper parts and cheaper to work on. You can get a nice cam and valve train package for a pushrod motor fairly cheap and any shade tree mechanic can install it ant say the same for a 2v or 4v

+1, it's damn near simple to swap a cam from a pushrod motor. The same as swapping a 302.

nobody i know has, but its fairly easy to get it bared...only issue i see would be the drivers side exh manifold...havent fount a stock one that would work but i think the lsa or ls3 style might work

how does it drive? do you have stock suspension? in the rear especially, does it feel better balanced cause of an all aluminum engine?

I have a lot of respect for LS motors (owned an LS1 Camaro), but IMO this isn't even a question. Yes, the 03/04 Cobra drivetrain will cost more, but you can get 500+rwhp with bolt-ons. The low-end torque makes the the 03/04 Cobra a blast to drive. I can only imagine how much fun and faster it would be in a 2800lb foxbody...

get a procharger for an ls1, still be under budget of the termi swap, more reliable, better gas milage and lay down 550rwhp without trying and still be smog legal. not saying im not a fan of the termi swap, i would much rather see one under the hood of a fox, but if were talking dollar amount, reliability, availability of parts, easier to work on, and more room in the engine bay, i have to recommend an lsx based swap

You bring up good points, but we'll agree to disagree [Wink]

BTW.. Looks like you did a great job on your LS swap. Any videos?

man this makes me wanna pick up a roller, tub it, build a rear end, and throw a ls1 with ms3 cam, and spray that thing to the moon. you guys seen the stock longblock ss on nor cal lsx, that runs 9's with bolt ons, ms3 cam, and a 200 shot? pretty impressive considering the amount of mods and in a pig of an f body.

had the harness done by speartech, labeled with obd2 port, engine light, and fuse box. literally only had to tap into power, ignition, starter solenoid, fuel relay, alternator and starter battery cables..
the only gauges that work on the stock cluster without wiring any up are the fuel level and voltage. i just went with an auto meter dash, only have an oil pressure sensor and water temp sensor under the hood, all other gauges can be ran off of the lsx harness
