SLOWBACK 67 ------ you ignored the evidence I showed directly contradicting your claim about cops shooting blacks in the back.
Which one of you is the trump supporter on the left? Which one of you is the trump supporter on the right?

People crack me up when they say these Athletes are exercising their 1st amendment right. First of all the 1st Amendment if for protection of the people from the government. Last time I check the work place as in the NFL was not the Government, and the Government would not be the one stopping them from doing so. As an employer the NFL had the right to take action regardless of someones beliefs. It is the same as when I used to work retail, they used to train all us managers and our employees that we had to wish people Happy Holidays and not Merry Christmas. Just because I celebrate Christmas and thats were my beliefs stem does not mean that I had the 1st ammendment right to do as I please at work. Get your fact right people.
And yes I stand for our countries Anthem, I believe in the Pledge of Allegiance at our schools, and now that I dont work retail and am self employed I say Merry Motha Fucking Christmas!!! [ 2017-09-26, 07:03 PM: Message edited by: Camara90 ]

I’ve never sat at home or do I know anyone who sat at home during a National Anthem.

Camara90 ------ I respect your opinion. I'd like to share how civil rights might not be applied as you perceive. Samantha Elauf took Abercrombie to the supreme court for not allowing her to wear a hijab at work ---- https://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/02/us/supreme-court-rules-in-samantha-elauf-abercrombie-fitch-case.html What style of cotton you place on your body is just as much of a freedom of expression as kneeling.
The Steeler team sat out the anthem. Do you want the whole team fired? Do you want to live in a country where the ruler tells private corporations to fire their employees for exercising their first amendment rights?

Gentleman, listen to what NASCAR great Dale Earnheart Jr said on this topic "All Americans are granted rights to peaceful protests. Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable - JFK"
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said "No matter how many times a football player says, 'I honor our military, but I’m protesting police brutality and racial inequality,' it doesn’t matter, Nationalists are saying, ‘You’re disrespecting our flag.’ Well, you know what else is disrespectful to our flag? Racism. And one’s way worse than the other.” And on DT he said “The idea of civil discourse with a guy who is tweeting and demeaning people and saying the things he’s saying is sort of far-fetched, Can you picture us really having a civil discourse with him?” This is how I feel when trying to discuss these topics with the Trump supporters here. When I first joined, one Trump supporter threatened to kill me. I have news for you. The first amendment is not to protect speech you like to hear. The first amendment is explicitly to defend speech you don't want to hear. Civil rights are very undemocratic like that. The first amendment is explicitly to preserve the right to express a minority opinion. 99.99% of the country can vote to silence you, but the 1st amendment tells them they can't! This is of course 100% correct and should be common knowledge. The NFL owners have the right to do as they please with their employees (within reason and law of course). In this case, they are choosing to let them "speak." At this point the President should be hands off. After all, the government trying to regulate private business is an incredibly liberal ideal.
What's truly offensive is the constant discussion by our leaders and media of the NFL when hundreds of thousands of Americans in Puerto Rico are in dire need of help. At least a week after the hurricane, some are finally starting to take notice. [ 2017-09-29, 09:39 PM: Message edited by: theconductor ]

This I agree.
Trump should be more concerned about Puerto Rico and not throwing a diva tantrum on national television about the NFL.
