Someone who knows the person who shot the video told ABC7 News that there have been past contacts between police and a member of this person's family. It is unclear at this time whether this had anything to do with this particular incident.

You do not have to be compliant with an officer if they are not detaining you. You also have 4th amendment rights in this situation, but don't even get me started on that.
The cop never did let him know why he was being harassed (other then because this guy was video taping, which again is not illegal in any way shape or form, and definitely not enough to have a gun pulled on you and your life threatened.)
Also not that he took his hand immediately out of his pocket, put the stuff on the hood and then pointed at the officer.

Besides the fact that brandishing is illegal? If you or I did that we would be in jail. Cops are in fact NOT above the law and have to abide by the same laws as we do. There was exactly zero cause for A) The officer to be there and B) for him to do that.
