This is the fun part [Big Grin]
Are you going with a 03/04 Cobra motor as well?

Maybe a Coyote swap? [Wink]

More than likely a coyote swap unless a cobra or Shelby motor surface for a good deal

My take on this.

I debated over this alot with my wifes new 69 camaro.

Remember back in the day when 5.0 SEFI (1990s and up) or the 5.7L TPI (late eighties and up) were the way to go in the old school muscle car swaps and hot rods (to have EFI and overdrive) well, now those are played out.

Then came the cobra swaps. Starting to get played out, people wanting coyotes now.

Then came the LS1 swaps. Those getting played out, people wanting LS2,3,6,7s.

Well in years come by, thats gonna be a played out ass swap and actually end up hurting the cars value in my opinion.

I think the guys that left the big blocks alone and maybe added overdrive or 6 speeds, and the guys that left the traditional small blocks alone and maybe added overdrive or 6 speeds (manual) the value will always be there.

Example:

Say you own a 1969 camaro or a 1967 fastback mustang.

In 1978 you built a bad ass big block.

In 1978 it was still cool and valuable.
In 1988 it was still cool and valuable.
In 1998 it was still cool and valuable.
In 2008 it was still cool and valuable.
In 2018, well you may not even have gasoling then but thats a different point.

Now say in 1990 you ripped the big block out of either car and put the latest small block, overdrive trans of either standard at that point, in the car.

1969 camaro= 5.7 TPI with 700R4
1967 mustang=5.0 with SEFI and AOD.

In 1978 you woulda had to have a time machine.
In 1988 it was still cool and valuable
In 1998 it was still kinda cool and valuable.
In 2008 what the fuck? Why didnt they do an LS swap?
In 2018, well you might not even be able to buy gas for it, so thats a different point.

Rant off.

Good luck Steve, either way gonna be sick.

I hear ya. Then it will give me something else to do and put a hydrogen motor in it. The nice thing is it can be easily switched by just swapping motor mounts. I haven't bought anything yet so I still have time to change my mind 25 more times. Good luck with your surgery Dan.

No Dan has a good point.
Think how the owners of the first 3v motors feel. I'd be kinda mad if my newer car made the same HP stock as a new v6!!! [Embarrassed]
