Went to the local dragstrip last night just to watch. Got talked into making a few shake down passes on my street tires. None of the runs were good. Missing gears, tire pressure adjustments, and bad launches since it was the first time taking her out since the new build. The second run I had would of been my best since I had a decent launch and didn't miss any gears, but I had a little excitement.

Realized how much I never want to see foxbody headlights coming at my drivers door again. I waited at the tree until I was ready to launch. My buddy was in his fox, and as I caught him down track he lost control. He managed to save the car without hitting mine or doing too much damage once he hit the guard rail. I got out of it then got back on the gas to get past him before he came into my lane. All his damage was to the passenger side. Has a popped front tire, dent on the rear quarter, fender, and front bumper.

He walked away fine also so it was all well that ends well. Kind of have a itch to go back to the track, but also not eager to damage my car. But it could happen anywhere I guess. Here is the vid.

Not sure what happened on the run. He was almost to the end of the 1/4 so who knows.

After the run I pulled over and made sure he was good. His car really isn't too bad off, and he wasn't in any pain. His body was in shock for sure, so I am sure he is feeling it a bit today.

fox had what we believe to be a head gasket blow. putting coolant on the ground/tires. my buddy did a heck of a job not hitting terrance, and just couldn't escape the wall.

the car has front end damage(broken ball joint, tire/wheel, fender, bumper, possible other)... and the rear axle isn't sitting right. time will tell.

I'm not worried about being unable to trap that speed. All about traction

On a side note....

That must be gods car if your buddy is trapping 126. That's a low 11/high 10 second car. There are VERY FEW cobras running that fast in the country on the stock eaton with an upper only, no nitrous, and no port job. Around 7 or 8 to be exact. None on a mail order tune. not calling BS, but id like to see that time slip....

Yeah. Common knowledge says not to, but a few guys who race regularly recommended to get them a little wet and burn it off. Managed to cut a 1.9 60ft. My buddy was cutting 1.7's on his DR's so it wasn't bad at all.

Oh well it's true but I'm a firm believer in not giving a crap about the trap speed that doesn't determine how fast a car should run in a quarter that's why there's an e.t. And a mph people just always wanna associate them. My buddy's 6 second top sportsman car can run half track shut down and run a 9 at 100 mph. My dads stock zo6 ran 11.80 a 128 so do you think his car should run high nines? Gears tire sizes ect play that part
