Well that is all fine and dandy, but you must really consider your realm of influence first before helping/considering others or it could end up a bad case of the blind leading the blind. And that starts with your own home then trickles out. Although your thought is a noble one, its just not realistic to consider all situations. You consider your then those that closely resemble or trail yours. (IMO)
I'll agree with you on some of your points thus far; however, just because you personally ("as a taxpayer") have benefited, it does not mean that Obama can be considered a success as a president.

I didn't necessarily vote for McCain; I simply voted against Obama. As you said, all politicians are crooks - fine, I'm with you all the way on that count, be they Republican or Democrat party members.

As far as I'm concerned, I hope and pray Obama and his entire administration and line of thinking is a one-and-done deal. Call me "bandwagon" if you must, but the label of Socialism is one that is an apt description of the changes he is attempting to initiate in this country. What happened to his promise of disclosure, that the health-care hearings would be broadcast live on C-SPAN, or his promise that all bills would be on the White House website for five days prior to signing?

It's too bad that he was elected based on who he is and what he looks like, rather than how suitable he was to lead this country. People got caught up in the Bush-backlash (and perhaps rightly so), but to cast votes blindly for someone because they are a "first for the country" and whatever other flimsy rhetoric was used to bait the under-educated into supporting him continues to be a disaster.

Now, I am in no way saying that Obama is a sub-par president because of the state of the union and the state of our economy at the time being - this was a problem to be inherited by whomever took over the reigns, be it McCain, Dean, or even Nader.

As mentioned previously, I hope that the voters who made the mistake in 2008 will see the bigger picture, much as 23109 said - forgoing personal interests for the sake of the country as a whole. Just because Obama's record (by a looooong shot) deficit spending hasn't affected us on a personal level (yet), I hope there are enough level-headed voters with sufficient foresight to see the direction the country is headed if we continue to allow the current administration to guide the ship.

Funny how you have these people on her talking shit about Obama. When in fact you have a president that has taking on an economy that was on the brink of collapse but revive it to get the stock market over 10k, which is 80% above it's lowest point. Unemployment that was created by the former administration. A president who was given two wars, that didnt need to be fought. Which is costing the american people 10-15 BILLION a month. Guess what, it takes time. He has only been the president for what 15 months.... How many vacation has he taken , one. How often was Bush at his ranch out of the year, about 50% of the time.

You dont have to agree with his policies but the man is trying and has been given plenty of issues by Bush. Laso for some of you guys , it doesnt matter what he did or does, just because it wasn't McCain or Rand Paul, you will always complain about something. Just except he is your president for the next 3-7 years

And stop throwing up the fucking [patriot] when you diss Obama, like it's patriot to say it

Yes. And IMHO, it really disappointed me when the Repubs hyped up McCain and shushed up the other possible nominees for the party. Though I didn't start following politics that closely until a few years ago, I can't say in the past 3 elections, that there was a candidate from either party that I really liked.

I know we are all set in our ways pretty much. But I am going to assume you may be in your 20's. But, I'll just say this; watch what you wish for. Because the grass on the other side is no greener.

IMHO 23109 has a good point about liberal politics. Yes, we are spending alot of money on wars... That is true.... But if war was one of the main reasons our State was straped for cash, then why are non liberal run states not suffering nearly as bad as states like CA&NY? A Socialist Style System is not the answer. Places like Greece show us that it doesn't work.

I don't think you guys are seeing this from my point of view. My state is broke. I pay some of the highest taxes in the country. Not because of a war, but because democrats have so many social programs. 33% of all welfare people live here. Lets face it california is liberal controlled don't matter who is the gov. I offer those FACTS. And I am sick of it. Can't blame foxnews for me knowing my tax rate and my states money troubles. I sure can't blame republicans either.

NY and CA is amongst the highest in the counrtry (which also includes states like FL an OK) because its the two top producing states in the union... so when a market and ecomony crashes guess which states gets hit the hardest??? the ones making the most money.

this.

states the highest up have the furthest/hardest falls.

You cannot blame liberals or the other side. This stuff being this bad is a concerted effort. I even read how the system itself is designed to fail. Its a necessary evil to reboot things. But thats another topic.

so what your saying is a state like ca that is hit the hardest should cut back on programs like medical and wefare. Makes sense to me. Or they need to do something about illegals. Costing millions.

and for the record on illegals. There are 50+ that stand on tennyson rd rushing cars for work. I don't think that's a job that americans won't do. I think that is too many illegals that I pay for when they go to the hospital.

I'm glad you shown everyone why we need to be more conservative. It's because our state has a hard enough time on it's own

First have these factories and fields to stop hiring these people illegally..... (repub) then we can talk about the illegals reasons for coming across
