Wow that sucks. I think most people have been there. Two+ years invested in a relationship is a long time and it is true it is better to occupy your time then to mope around waiting for something to happen (not healthy).
As far as getting over or forgetting your ex...one word:
STRIP CLUBS

You got to go through the motions. Sad, empty, sad, disbelief, sad, devistated, sad, pissed off,...I think when you get to angry or pissed off things start to get a little better...not much but some.
Think of it this way. She doesn't hate you or else she wouldn't have stuck it out for 2 1/2 years. It must have been a hard thing for her to do too. Take what you can from the past 2 1/2 years and make the next relationship that much better.
You can't imagine another person now...of course not, but it'll happen. Right now everthing you do you have to do for yourself. Buy something you've always wanted for your car even if it cost a little more than you want it to right now. GET BUSY like everyone said. Don't ever let her see or hear that you are down.

It always hurts. Start with a hobby. the last time i broke up with my long term gf. 1.8 years i started taking martial arts. that took care of all my anger issues, kept me occupied and i made it all the way to brown belt. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)
Now.. everytime i break up with someone i go back and start practicing again.. so.. i'm one relationship away from a black belt.

Sorry to hear about that bro. I kinda know how you feel. I have been with my girl for over 3 years now. She goes to College at UCI, 400 miles away. It's really hard to deal with sometimes. I miss her alot and sometimes it feels like were not together. The advise I can give is when I get bumed out, go drive and drive............ TRUST ME, it helps for the moment.

i've been single for a long time myself,the first few months are very hard(especially if you two frequnet the same places) but do anything too keep your mind off of her (ie; go to new places and stuff) at least you have your mustang (always good for the chicks )hell now you can do the things she forbid you to do, hell call up some ex'hoe's, have a party just don't lock yourselfin your room and be depressed!(it never helps) i do not know the reason why or who broke up with who,but remember it's only half your fault! this is when your friends prove to you they are youe friends!(unless they're sick and tired of hearing it already?!) i hope this helps alittle.....P/M me if you wanna vent or whatrever! i've been there done that many-a-times! take care

Here's what you do. Go on FTD.com send her Mom a bunch of roses, and a card asking her to go to a movie with you as friends. When you go to pick her mom up, hand her mom some chocolates, give her a hug, and make sure you have a camera to get your ex's facial expression when she see's you doing this.
