Just curious to what everyone think about a modular swap into a fox body... Ive been doing a little research and this seems like a solid way to go...
basics...87-93 coupe, '03 cobra motor w/kenny bell @ 13psi to start with then after some driving maybe 16-20psi (maf, tb, injectors), 4:10's, aje tubular front end (made specifically for the swap), aje tubular a-arms, flaming river manual rack, front/rear coilovers, aerospace master cylinder, msd, etc...
Similar setup at 11.5psi went 10.5's at 128, i would think 9's are very achievable with some good boost... The part that seems to be the most difficult would be the wiring, although ive seen some complete harness kits available.. Not sure about the computer yet, either going stock or stand-alone....Anyone?
-and yes i know this is a more expensive path than putting together a pushrod combo, time to be unique ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif) [ March 15, 2004, 10:42 AM: Message edited by: PeNiNsula302 ]

i think its a solid combo that i had half of.
if it wasnt so damn expensive i would still be doing this swap. the wiring isnt that bad. if you want to be bad ass and spend less money, get an 03 shortblock, match it with 96-98 cobra heads and upper parts with a nice single turbo ![[burnout]](graemlins/burnout.gif) [ March 15, 2004, 09:14 AM: Message edited by: cobraman_1994 ]

lame ...you have the perfect platform for anytype of modded/fast car you want. why not keep things simple and build that car. it will cost you a lot less in the long run. dont be one of those guys who sells their perfectly good cars for a 3 year project car, why not keep yours and make it a 6 month project car.

I chose the 3 year thing, for the ideas i have it will pay off in the end...
Primarily because... *A couple of things i have done with this car i would want to change, as little as they might be, its still a waste of money... *Want a coupe *Want to start off fresh *Want a coupe *Want something already with custom paint/perfect exterior *Oh and, i want a coupe.
If im going to drop an assload of $ into a car, it damn well better be my perfect platform ![[dance]](graemlins/dance.gif) [ March 17, 2004, 10:20 AM: Message edited by: PeNiNsula302 ]

I gaurantee you could put a 03 cobra motor tranny, tubular front end, you already have the rear end, coilover rear end a roll bar and and damn nice paint job for less than $15,000, assuming you piad full price for everything which we know you'd get hook ups on lots of stuff. I don't know why you want a coupe so bad. They are light as hell but that's about the only plus otherwise you know I think the body looks like crap. Another vote to do it to the hatch ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

sorry ryan but there is no way to do the complete swao with an 03 cobra motor 15k
03 cobra motors are super expensive by them selves, then u need to by a tranny, and the t56 is an expensive one
tubular front end is gonna run u upwards of a $1000 for everything needed
if u dont want to run the stock shitty headers, look into some custom kooks for about a $1000
plus u either have to use the stock wiring and some how adapt everything to the stock fox stuff
or get fast/accel gen7 and spend another $2500
it is very very expensive
