Having some work done on tranny and while it's dropped I will be installing a short throw shifter. Pro 5.0 or steeda tri ax? Need some input. I need to get the parts in a hurry before the tranny gets re-installed. Thanks

You're going to get answers for both. I personally like my Pro 5.0. I especially like the way it shifts 2-3, kinda feels like it throws it into third for you. Good luck with your choice...

I like the Pro 5.0. You can order it without the stupid 3" nadle, and get solid bushings for your stock handle. That's the better way to go. I don't like the Tri-Ax because it's all aluminium. I have seen a few of them snap the handles off.

Personally for tall drivers the Triax Shifter is a good reach, the pro 5.0 is shorter, both shift equally. I just installed my triax couple days ago for my T45, and love it.

I will be buying a Pro 5.0 when I drop my Tremec in. It feels much better than the Tri-ax, hurst, and B&M in my opinion.

tri ax. You can adjust the handle to what you think is comfortable.

Tri-ax. Ive felt both shifters. They shift the same, but the tri-ax has a more comfortable reach.

Thanks for the reply's. It looks like I'm going to order the tri ax today. Great price, free shipping and both pro 5.0 and tri ax seem to be equal in quality.

I have a tri-ax (I bought it 4 years ago) and the handle is aluminum. I bent the crap out of it installing it. However, they do not make them out of aluminum anymore. I like my tri-ax.

I was holding the handle while tightening the bolts....pulled too tight. I'll even take a picture of the bent handle if you guys don't believe me....lol It's not bent in half or anything, but it is bent.

Then are you going to give me the money back for the broken aluminium handles I have? 2 of them broke off right at the threads.

If you can change your oil, you can change a shifter. Just pick some RTV at auto parts store and follow directions. I got my Triax at on stangnet, free tax and shipping.

Price difference isn't much. I paid $169.00 for the tri ax, no tax. I could have picked up the 5.0 at Serramonte Ford for $180.00 +tax.
