Are you putting a tach in? If so your gonna need a tach adapter.

no, keith is going to redyno my car but he wants a stronger tach signal so he is going to put a splicer in my tach wire to get a better reading. It went haywire at 5500 RPMS or so?

I'll see if i still have the instructions for the tach adapter it says what pins are for the tach in the wiring harness. I'll check when I get home tonight.

You connect it to one of the coil plugs

i was told that is not correct because it would give an inaccurate reading that way? Somethign about the plugs fire at different times yadda yadda.? Does this make any sense?

Not really... all the plugs fire at different times, but at the same rate... the rate is what determines RPM's. As long as its a coil on plug setup, it doesnt matter which coil you run off of...
