Alright you knuckleheads, let's do this!
I know you guys have been jonesin' for an ALTAMONT CRUISE and so have I so here we go! For those of you who went last time can attest to how fun it was...white-knuckle twisties, long straights, and beautiful scenery were aplenty. I'm gonna get the exact route setup shortly, it should be pretty close to what it was before, but I think were gonna add Grant Line Rd on the return portion prior to hittin' the freeway. So be watchin' this thread for the exact times/route/meeting spot/etc and what not. I hope many can make it, you won't regret it. Let's start gettin' a headcount. Talk to ya soon.

Ok, I've checked it out. It's all good. Here are the details

DATE: Saturday, August 16th, 2008

TIME: Meet at *9am* at the Safeway shopping center at Dublin Blvd and Tassajara Rds(in Dublin). It's very easy to find, exit Santa Rita/Tassajara just north of I-580 about a block. Map it if you're not sure...or let me know. I apologize for it being early, but we don't wanna deal with bicycles...and trust me, it will be much more fun goin' over Altamont Pass Rd not having to worry about stray cars comin' the other way.

DEPART: 9:30-9:45

This route is fun and takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete so be sure and have enough gas and that your car is in good working order. We will be pushin' the 'Stangs just a bit [burnout]

so the faint of heart just stay home [Razz]

. We'll stop once at a Starbucks along the way to chill for a second(this shopping center also has other stores). Depending on how many people want to do it, there is a Hooters at the end of the cruise if there are enough takers. Anyways, be there to roll and I'll show you the way!!

yup we did this back in 2004, fun times.
wish people still picks from that trip, my 92lx was in there with 18" blk bullits

Last time we went from Dublin/Tassajara, Highland east to Vasco, Patterson Pass Rd, Carrol, Greenville,Patterson Pass(again),Midway, Mountain House, 580 west to Dublin.

This time I'm gonna add Grant Line Rd for the return portion. There has been a little construction in the Tassajara area so I'm gonna go scout it when I get off of duty in the morning to see if that's a good place to start or if we should start on the Danville side. ya its a fun drive. If i remember right i think it was JOHN(IRISH) that was in front of me. whew those brakes were smelly.. i think he said he just got them done a couple days before though..

right on rick! so far i checked my schedule and that weekend should fall under my off weekend. man, i can't wait to work my shifter and scare myself again on those twisties like last time!!! at least this time we're doing in the day time so i could at least see where the road ends! [Smile]
