I should ahve some pics up from my camera in the next couple of days. I took pics of every car there basicly so hopefully they all turn out sometimes my camera makes pics blurry for no reason.
thanks again for the show!

I am not a sore looser, I totally agree with the 1st place pick 94-98 catagory, but come on, hell my engine along cost more then the 3rd place gold car entire (bargin basement)mods and the silver car 2nd place it was a blown 2V, I think my only compition was the yellow stroked 347 and he was'nt even in the top 3. Obevisly the judging dos'nt look at the modification list, because my car should have easly taken 2nd or 3rd.

that happens, last year john91coupe (a silver 9 second mustang) came in second to that purple car, i don't think thats really fair but theres nothing you can do. Maybe next year we could separate the race cars from the show cars or heavily modified cars?
edit: I'm NOT saying any of the cars that won in the 94-98 GT catagory weren't race cars i believe they all were. [ August 15, 2004, 09:16 AM: Message edited by: Cobra5.0JEEP ]

Maybe a nicer and more interesting location like some where in San Francisco, Santa Cruz or any place like that to help increase attendance and live up things some more would be a good idea, Plus people can do somthing fun like sight seeing, shopping, whatever, after the show ends. Look at the Knotts show as an example, a great show at an interesting location unlike Hayward were there nothing exciting really happens. As for this years show, I could not make it, but thanks to every one for attending and posting some nice picks! Planning on next year.

nope that's my buddies ride bro the guy thats standing next to it. And for all u guys talkin crap about the show being GAY yea it was but events like this shouldn't be about who spent how much on their rides it was all about meeting new people and nowing who is who in the forum. This was my first show and it was kinda crappy because it wasn't sunny because the moderators picked a bad location and was it too damn early on a Saturday morning. Most people are K.O around that time. I mean I had to get up at 5:45 and i live in palo alto. If u guys are whinning about showin up at a CALIFORNIA FORDS show u shouldn't there were DIE HARD FORD ENTHUSIAISTS out there from sac and maybe even from more far away. And maybe next year the moderators should have more different catergories. More broken up more detailed. Like best charged ride or best rims or best paint or most important most original ride. Mine was prbably the only one with stock rims. That's pretty damn orginal. Most of the rides all had some kinda COBRA's.Maybe next time there will be less complaints and more cars.

My Thoughts on this "subject"...
Have classes for each body type (pre 79, 79-93, 94-98, 99-04, truck, ect). Get on a more generic trophy system, use ones that can be re-used next year if any awards are left over (cuts costs down in the long run, example: if throphies are used you can simply change the date tag).
If peer juding is happening again, offer each "judge" to place to third on each class. Awards points on each placing (1st=3pts, 2nd=2pts, 3rd=1pt).
-or-
Do away with peer judging all together and have the moderators/show holders judge using a points sheet for each vehicle entered (I can supply example sheets if needed from the truck shows that can be modified for this show). Then after the show, make the sheets avail. to each entrant after the show if they wish to have it.
My thoughts are that before next years show is held, a vote for what type of judging people will prefer should be held and go with the majority. Sadly with "peer judging" the results will vary a lot from show to show, but its all part of the game - and if you can't deal with it, don't enter your car.
I think its great to have this show and I always look forward to it no matter how big or small it ends up being. All of us need to thank the show holders for making it happen for us.
(the end)

You know, just about every car show that there is judging at, someone is bound to be upset that some other car got picked over theirs. For me, I go out to have fun and be among other enthusiasts like myself. And, if trophies matter to you, then work harder for next year's show. However, that won't guarantee you a trophy.
I had a lot of fun and I'm glad I made it out to the show. Maybe some day I'll get a trophy. But if I don't, then my trophy is being able to jump in my ride and go.
By the way, you guys/gal with the hydraulics were a kick to watch. Not something I'd put on my truck, but entertaining nonetheless.

It's not money spent its the quality of you components and how will the car is built and performs. I am not trying put down someones ride and pride/joy, but the Judging does not go far enough into the mod details and orinallity of the owner.
I agree talk is cheap, but my car outperforms 95% of the cars out there

Just to clarify for you. Your peers voted on the cars not judges. The only award that was not peer based was the moderater's choice award.

Performance? LOL Your 408 puts down less power then that Yellow 94's 347. My stock headed 331 would run circles around you. That silver 98 supercharged GT would kill you as well. 95% of the cars...I don't think so!
