Since the day i drove my Focus off the lot, Its been the biggest piece of shit i've ever owned. It has some of the craziest noises coming from the transmission. Ford has constantly refused to look into the car. I called Ford up and talked to them about the absolutely shitty transmission they put in this car and its irregular shifting and this dumbass had the nerve to tell me its normal. So a car shifting like a 13 year old behind the wheel of a manual transmission for the first time is normal now?
Now the car is making a nasty grinding noise when going up hills, which im sure is transmission related. I take it to Ford and they refuse to work on it or even look at it and wont honor their warranty. I've heard of Ford warranty horror stories but i didnt think it would be this bad to the point of them telling me "tough shit and deal with it".
This whole experience has completely soured me on buying a new 2015 GT because i refuse to go through this crap again, especially with a $30k+ car.

I drive a 2013 ford fiesta at work and it does the exact same thing you are describing. Its an auto and when you stop on a hill, the car will roll back without stopping like if it were a manual.
Ford really said "fuck it" with these little pieces of shit lol.

Yeah, It does that aswell.. Annoys the crap out of me. Ford has really screwed over their "base" customers with these cars. They are by far the biggest pos out there. This automated manual trans will go down as one of the worst trans ever put in a car.

Dont worry, Its "normal"! I dont know how the hell this car made it through the final inspection before getting put into production.
Mine started out with a jerk and i was fine with it, whatever, its a daily beater for my 100+ mile commute but it turned into a nasty shuttering noise after awhile, Now im doing something about it because im afraid this thing is going to explode now.

Unfortunately, Ford was correct in saying "It's normal." That's the way those shitty CVTs are designed. I'd keep fighting it though.

Just so you know the Focus and Fiesta have what's called a dual-clutch Automatic. It will always jerk because it functions the same as a clutch less manual. Its the reason they get such high gas mileage while retaining size and HP over similar models. I never let someone buy one without them knowing first. It's the only transmission on the market that will adapt to your driving, the shifting patterns adapt from 5000-7500 miles...also Ford Focus is the number one highest selling automobile on the world so it's working fine for everyone else

C'mon man you're not fooling anyone on here. Everybody knows you've been craving the LS dick for a while. Now you're using this as an excuse to buy a C6 ZO6. Just go buy your gay Vette and stop trying to justify your craving by comparing an entry level car with a new mustang.

I have no problems with the car itself. I think it looks good, Handles well, Has alot of power for what it is, Gas mileage is fantastic. I just wish i had gotten the manual instead.
I've been doing alittle research on the transmission and apparently youre suppose to drive this car like a manual car( as far as throttle goes) and not a traditional auto. Which i've never really tried before so ill try some techniques tomorrow and see if i can minimize the shuttering and jerkiness.

Some people have to commute that far for their money asshole troll. I personally wouldn't commute that far but if he has to and it's good money then he does what he has to to provide a roof and food on the table for his family.

To be completely honest, I chose to commute 100+ miles over a closer to home job. I had a job 1 mile from my house last year and it drove me crazy. Im one of those people who hates living in a bubble every day of my life working 2 miles from home and going straight home to the same old crap. The 1 way commute is about 58 miles give or take so its not 100+ 1 way but it gets me outside of my usual surroundings. I just throw in a good start to finish CD and enjoy my drive.
I also got 2 gym memberships for that reason, One next to my job and 1 next to where i live.
But hey, If it makes me a "puro idiot" then thats a title i'll gladly accept. [ 2014-02-11, 11:37 PM: Message edited by: Robb ]
