Essentially Ferrari-level engineering but much smaller and affordable. Toyota 2JZ-GTE: can make insane horsepower with light mods and retains reliability GM LS-line: proves that the outdated overhead-valve pushrod architecture is still viable after over 50 years. Fairly reliable with decent fuel economy. Makes awesome power simply by relieving factory restrictions. As for some of the other mentions in this thread, really? The Ford 302? I mean i get it's a beloved engine and all, but we're talking about the best engine ever made... the new 3.7 V6 in the 2011 Mustang makes more power than ANY production 302 offered by Ford straight off the showroom floor. As for the new 2011 Coyote 5.0, it's an awesome engine for sure, but there are smaller engines making more horsepower, not to mention the motor hasn't really been out long enough to fully judge it just yet... the aftermarket is just getting started with it, and we have no idea if they'll go 100,000-150,000 miles of hard use without issues. Now if the thread was titled "Best FORD Engine Ever Made" maybe the old and new 302's would be a realistic option. But even then, i'd say the DOHC 5.4 in the GT500/Ford GT is one of the best engines Ford has ever made. 500-600-700rwhp easy. 1,000rwhp not too much of a stretch. [/QB][/QUOTE]
