I had a persistent problem with my steering wheel wobbling. Turns out it was the 2 bolts behind the turn signal stem. It was causing my actual ignition so not make contact causing the car to shut off or buck when making a u-turn or anything that requires torque on the column. It would disengage and act haywire. Any ways tore it apart and loctitded them and reassembled. Been running great but now I have 2 new issues. When I advance the key forward to "on" everything works. Dash buzz's fuel pump primes ready to go. Advance to run and nada, no click lights shut off like it wants to start (all power available sent to starter?) car will start all day every day hot or or cold jumping the starter solenoid.
Other problem is kinda funky. Drove the car from Antioch to hayward no hick ups. Took pics cruised no problems. On the way home the car randomly shuts off. Rpms drop to 0 but it still sound like car is BARELY running. Was in 5th kinda stayed on the gas started to pull off to side of road and she comes back on out of nowhere. So I keep driving and a couple miles later going up willow pass on hwy4 she shuts off no saving it this time. I advance key back and forth a few times trying to hear the fuel pump over passing traffic I go jump the solenoid starts right up. At this point I'm pretty sure it's not the tfi, I've had that issue and the car is willing to restart so I'm thinking something else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To me, it sounds like the ignition switch is messed up. You'd need to do some troubleshooting with a voltmeter to see if everything is making contact when it should. Usually if you turn the key to start and the solenoid doesn't get juice, there's an issue with the contacts in the switch. Sometimes you can take them apart and hit the contacts with a piece of sandpaper to get any corrosion off and it'll work again.

You need a new ignition switch.

It's either the ignition switch or the dizzy itself. I had my PIP sensor inside my dizzy go out and I had random no-start issues, including it just shutting off on the freeway like you mentioned. I tried replacing the TFI but still same. Try another known good dizzy or if you're ambitious, replace the PIP inside the dizzy.
