At a cold start the TPS should idle up the car for a couple few seconds, then gradually idle down, right?? if so i purchased a new on for my 89 5.0, they say it needs calibration, does any one know what ohms it should be set at??

should be between .8 volts and 1.0 volts.

should this be done with the key on engine off?? i mean how do i get the ohms to read??

its volts not oms and key on engine off. check the green wire for the volt signal
