What are the advantages or disadvantages of running a carb set up block vs. a fuel injected one? I'm planning on getting a new motor built for my car and am not sure which way to go? Any advice for this rookie?

I don't have the luxuary of having a track only car. Eventually i'm gonna have to smog the thing to drive it, so looks like the carb is out. Thanks for the replys.
