El Caballo --- that's a good read. Thanks. You should try using other companies besides google. That crooked head of the FCC guy does not work for the people. He's a "former" Verizon employee doing the work of his "former" employer. Big companies never have your best interests at heart.
This year American's also lost net neutrality and their internet service providers like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast are allowed to snoop on all your internet activity and sell it.
Instead of gmail, use https://protonmail.com They don't snoop, record and analyze all your emails like google does. Try it and install the secure email app -----

To search https://duckduckgo.com was recommended here. https://searx.me is also good. Neither of them store your searches. Google records and stores everything
Do not use facebook, hotmail, gmail, microsoft live, AOL, apple and yahoo mail unless you want your government to record and search through all of your messages when ever it wants.

I got around the internet before this law was put into effect. Free markets will keep internet prices in check. Why would anyone be in favor of the gov getting involved in private owned companies?

Not a lot of people know this. The definition of fascism is government dictatorship through merging government and business leaderships. Look at the top secret government classified slide above that was leaked. All of those businesses merged with the government to betray their users and the 4th amendment of the constitution. quote:

You can fight back. Use https://protonmail.com I talked about. For talking and texting everyone is using the Signal Messenger app Signal for iPhone IOS or signal for Android or on their computer. This app got a 400% increase of users after Trump got elected. Signal is also what crooked Hillary's team started to use after her email scandal. Doesn't matter your politics, America's founding fathers told you not to let governments and businesses record, search and sell the contents of your messages. Signal messenger for text and voice. Proton Mail for emails. Don't give up the contents of your message to the companies above so they can sell it for billions and give a copy of it to your government. Who knows what kind of government we'll have in the future and what they'll do with this database of who you talk to, what you say to them and where you are when you say it.

Dumb down the population and they will have no idea what rights you're taking away. Kids don't even spend that much time on the constitution now. When I was in JR High we spent over a month going through the Bill Of Rights. Had to pass that to get a passing grade in 8th grade. It's really sad.

I agree with you. What is the fix though? One by one these companies sold out Americans and started giving all your information to the government-----
We can use software like Signal Messenger and Protonmail instead. It's a band-aid fix. There is no software to fix "I fucked up my democracy".
