I saw you guys talking about Tesla on here. And I thought it would be a cool job. I got the call back today.. I was pretty excited...(you know, cutting edge technology). So, he offered $17.00 per hr. I laughed! A la verga guey!!! Tesla Motors Chupa mi huevos. [ December 04, 2012, 11:29 PM: Message edited by: 75 chevy ]

Cool story ..i have a few friends that work there after Getting laid off from nummi..they were making well over $30/hr and now making $17/hr at Tesla..they're both pretty happy to be working again. $17/hr starting with no experience degree is pretty damn good if you ask me

I don't know...I mean money is money, but $17/hr?!?? That's not necessarily something to be proud of if you ask me...

if you can't live on that, you're doing something wrong. IMO anyways.

maybe so... but it sure isn't something to be ashamed of either.
you must have a job that makes much more then that right? not attacking you, just wondering. [ December 05, 2012, 12:45 AM: Message edited by: 93ReefBlue5.0 ]

Nothing at all...but if its a bunch of manual labor/assembly shit, I'd expect to get more. That's just new though.

I would think it all depends on what you do for that $17/hr, and what the degree/cert requirements would be. But IMO $17/hr starting without a degree or any experience of any kind...is some damn good pay.

I didn't mean to put your buddies down on pay...but from $30/he to $17/he that's pretty big hit IMO. And maybe they don't have a degree, but since they worked at Nummi I'd assume they have experience.

Capitalism at its finest?! We can only afford to pay you $17 per hr . But you can work 20 hrs overtime per wk. I am making $25 per hr now. I used to make $32 per hr back in the pre-recession era. My opinion is that offer was bullshit. I guess I am over qualified. And robots can paint better than me... So, maybe I am obsolete. In any case.. I don't fit there.

I'd rather work hard to finish a project and get paid very well. 25%-35% of what the project value is. So if they are the Motor Trend car of the year maker....And making good 40k cars...Then show me the money!!!???!!! $$$$$ WTF?
I don't want to work slowly(or not hard as you say) Its a waste of time. IMO

I work about 80 hours per 2 weeks. Sometimes a little less. I drive 4 blocks to work. Drive home for lunch. I take home just under $1700 every 2 weeks.
Commuting south to Tesla would be more time and money. In my scenario. No bueno. No mi gusto. [ December 05, 2012, 01:57 AM: Message edited by: 75 chevy ]

But 30/hr to 0/hr is a bigger hit
