Was set on buying an 05-08 mustang gt, but ended up getting a good deal on an 06' GTO 6.0 Auto (daily driver) runs strong and way faster than I expected, but not faster than my mustang. Ive always loved these cars and respected them. I have no regrets buying the auto, it spins through first and second and sometimes chirps third.Very smooth and pulls hard in every gear. Badass cars! Anyone know of any good first mods, its bone stock. thinking of putting a K&N drop in filter for starters.

Long tubes and tune. Will be a respectable 30+ rwhp.

A good tune which will remove torque management makes a huge difference. If you want to remain carb legal get tune, ported intake manifold and jba shorty headers. A K&N intake is also carb legal and a good mod although not the best intake, it's the only one which is carb legal.

Before you start any mods I would do a good tune up. NGK TR55 v-power plugs, taylor wires and 160 degree thermostat. Then ported intake manifold and tune. Shortys and catted midpipe if you want to do exhaust and remain carb legal. Got any pics of your Goat?

SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM
Well aware, since they were introduced to the U.S in 04 as the come back car for the GTO. I have a badass 11 sec foxbody which will always be my first love and baby, but I respect american muscle (speaking of the LS2 engine) and the australian styling of the Manaro. I test drove multiple 05-08 mustang GT 5 spds aiming to buy one, but they were all turds, the only one that was fast was the automatic. But all in all I respect American muscle.

yes I drove an 06 quick silver one w/red dash manual trans and a black one with an auto trans both at chase chvrolet both were still on the lot in 2010 since 2006 no one wanted them and neither did I. for the money... not worth it thats when I bought my current fox put close to 10k in it and it has out run every gto that I have come accros. with the gto still hovering in the 20k range for a clean one you have to put in alot of work in to make it quick
