i ran a car up to 20 grand over here, and never touched the paint or interior. but startin from scratch and everything new will do that. im surprised he didnt do any stitch welding or any kind of reinforcement. id be mad spending that much and then drive it to only fall apart.

You're comparing 2 different things there though. You thinking Z06, that's speed. People who restore cars to factory original aren't into speed. Those cars are destined to be show cars, living their life on a trailer and the showfield and not the 1/4 mile

the Vintage guys get hella crazy with paint markings and date-coding and stuff, I'm actually kinda interested in seeing how it'll be done on a Fox

Yeah, he is heavy into the car show stuff, he is some kind of judge that travels around the country judging restored cars. He just got done restoring his 69 GT500, that's for sale for $150K, it might be at a car show on June 22 at the Concord Airport.

Yeah it's crazy the detail work he does, he even had the brake booster rebuilt just say it's the original one, he comes over all the time just to get the best original parts I have, right down to the original bolts, nuts and wires. [ May 04, 2012, 08:34 PM: Message edited by: racsirx ]

Well that's what his customer brought him, he is actually in the market for a low mileage Saleen or Cobra.

Lol that's crazy!!! 60-80k is like throwing money in the trash! That car will never fetch more then 10k to sell but these kind of guys will Never sell them. It's really no different then what we do on our cars to fix them up or make them fast. We will never get our money back. Its part of a hobby. I know 2 people with 03-04 cobras that have over 125k in them! Gotta pay to play! Just comes with the territory. I had a customers bill come in at 35k for a fox. But car came in stock and left with full paint, suspension, built motor, 6 speed, built rear end, full black interior conversion, blower setup, brakes, wheels..etc!!! Whole new car now!!

Yes, to completely finish it.
I'm going to PM you my number and go ahead and pass it on to the guy who owns the GT, and let him know if he needs to throw money away next time to give me a call!

i wonder the condition n miles before the resto?
most foxes that go for real high dollars are either true original with low miles or are fully performance built ground up
so it'd would be hard to estimate how much this one would fetch untill seeing the end result
i also wonder what hes going to do about drivetrain? orgi factory stuff rebuilt?
imo at this day n age it would be hard to find the right buyer for a foxbody that was restored to factory with orginal stuff and get the big $$ for it [ May 04, 2012, 09:35 PM: Message edited by: sneakyfox90 ]

I guess if you were in High School in the 80's and now you are some computer nerd with a ton of cash this would be something you'd want to do. I don't have $600 bucks let alone $60K so I can't see dropping that into a fox resto but hey to each his own.
