Lesnar defenitely has the ability to throw a good strike, but it's been proven he isn't a as well rounded when it comes to the submission/ground attack, like when he fought frank muir, lets keep in mind it's called Mixed martial arts not boxing. my .02.

very very tough one to call...

i dont think couture could knock out or submit lesnar....

but i definately think lesnar can knock couture the f*ck out

he was hands were hella fast in his last two fightsm did you see his first punch he threw against heath herring!? BAM! he was done the rest of the fight

then again it's randy couture he's won fights in ways unimaginable...i really think his experience in the octagon is enough to beat Lesnar's big overpowering/controlling ass

not to mention they both come from strong wrestling backgrounds

i think this fight might go to a decision

i hope Couture wins cause that would be re-COCK-u-lous if Lesnar won and it was only his 3rd fight in the UFC

Had he not caught herring with that monsterous first punch, I think that fight woulda been completely different. But that's what's gonna make this guy's name in this sport.

its easy to say couture just based on his track record but u gotta consider the guy is coming back from a long layoff and hes not getting any younger. granted he's beaten some pretty tough guys in sylvia, gonzaga recently lesnar is no slouch and when u compare each of their strengths lesnar can be a nice underdog bet.
even though lesnar lacks experience and is prone to submission he makes up for it in speed, power and wrestling ability...randy is not know for his submission offense either and the last submission i could remember was awhile back with that anaconda.
i do hope randy wins as this will set him up with some future super fights and potentially the dream fight w/ fedor, which he'll probably end up losing but shit, the guy is a legend still.

Randy has great chance at winning this fight. While Lesnar has a lot of potential and might be a HW champ in the next couple of years, Randy has this fight won UNLESS he gets caught with a brutal punch.

Regardless, this is a WIN WIN for the UFC and FANS. Randy and Brock are the ones that have something to loose.

definately a win win situation.

Keep in mind big nog won the title when he fought tim sylvia.

so when big nog and Mir fight, the winner of that match will end up fighting the winner of Brock and lesnar fight

but yeah screw this heavyweight shit. How bought that Penn and GSP rematch? Fuck yeah go Penn!

yes this is typical of the ufc just like how bj penn can jump weight classes and get big fights. its not whos the best but bottom line what fights will sell really.

I am just curious. I know this is about Lesnar, but it seems you guys give him more respect and credit than Kimbo. Just wondering why? Both are new and relatively untested. Yet people bash Kimbo and the same folks put Brock on a pedestal. I dont know a lot about the sport besides these 2 names. I am just curious.

i like kimbo but they bash him cause he got his name from street fights that were played on youtube and then people bash brock cause he was in wwe.. i think he gets a little less hate though cause he was a great college wrestler.. now for the fight brock has a good chance of winning just on pure size.. yea coture beat both gonzoga and silvia at heavyweight but both of them suck..but the thing coture does have is experience and being smaller he usually comes in with a great game plan like he did against silvia..
all in all it doesnt matter cause nog will beat all of them mir doesnt deserve a title shot in anyway and if coture loses to brock then the coture fedor hype will be a whole lot less and dana white will have missed out on the biggest payday of all time.. just like the chuck and wanderlei silva fight could have been way better if they were both still on top

kimbo is just some big brawler off the street, lesnar is an accomplished athlete, not only was he a collegiate wrestler, but he was a champion collegiate wrestler, as well as his professional "wrestling" career, not much under his belt but he's sure as hell a bit more of a somebody than kimbo.

I compare it along the lines that all the opponets Kimbo has faced are all pretty much no name or washed up fighters that are beyond their prime (tank abbott and shamrock for example), where as Lensar in the UFC pretty much had to hit the ground running facing guys that are still currently fighting and have good exp in mma.

It seems like Kimbo is being treated like a boxing star in the sense that he is put in matches that he SHOULD win to build the hype etc etc.... vs a match that can go either way like Brocks fights.

I'd like to see a Kimbo versus Lesnar fight. That would take either of them out of the "suspect skills" category. A Couture/Lesnar fight would be bad for Lesnar. If he wins people will say "luck" and it would be from a lucky punch. If he loses then people say he got beat by an old guy (even though Couture is probably still one of the best out there). It would be a basically lose-lose situation. Lesnar still needs to build up his rep and pick better fights for now (imho). A better fight would be Gonzaga versus Lesnar fight, but it will still be extremely dangerous for Lesnar (a kick from Gonzaga would put him out and hurt him mentally for future fights).

I'd still like to see Cain Velasquez vs Gonzaga. Cain is looking like a beast. I think Randy is gonna have a tough time in this fight against Lesnar though, as much as I hate to say it. Lesnars biggest problems are gonna be against guys who are good off thier back, like Mir obviously, and Nog and Werdum.

You know N8, I'm a Kimbo supporter, but for the average viewer, if they saw Brock get famous by fighting "Lil Mac" and "The Bouncer" at the shipyards in Miami on youtube, I can see how they would be just as skeptical of him as they are of Kimbo, lol.
