The quality is kinda poor, and so are the other fighters. I would like to se a re-match of him and that ex-cop he fought before.

Kimbo Fight
Are you referring to his fight against UFC fighter Sean Gannon Frank?
Sean Gannon beat Kimbo's ass badly. Kimbo is a standup only fighter. He lacks disapline, Muay Thai and BJJ (grappling) skills. He'd be worthless in an MMA arena. He's already proven that. Let's just say for the sake of argument that Kimbo ever fought in the UFC, he would be fighting in the heavyweight division because it's safe to say he's well over 205lbs. That'd mean he would be fighting against people like Tim Sylvia, Jeff Monson, Andrei Arlovski, Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin, James Irvin, Frank Mir, Assuerio Silva, Renato Sobral, Brandon Vera and Mike Van Arsdale.
Personally I would love to watch Forrest Griffin or Assuerio Silva pound on Kimbo. Both of those fighter's love punishment. They perform that much better when getting the crap beat out of them. [ December 01, 2006, 06:37 PM: Message edited by: WRS92GT ]

Sorry, but Sean Gannon is NOT a UFC fighter. he fought A UFC fight and got dominated. quite different than being a "UFC fighter". Kimbo is a stand up fighter but so is Sean.. it was funny how when their video first came out people were saying that Sean had ground game and he would have killed kimo on the ground, but when he fought in The UFC it was apparent that he couldn't hold his own against a mediocre ground fighter. Kimbo is far from an excellent fighter but i do believe that he would knock the shit out of Tim Silvia.

Are you on drugs? Tim Sylvia? The UFC heavyweight champ? Yeah sure. A man that's 6'8" and 260+lbs and trained by Miletich FS versus an unskilled backyard moron with missing teeth and a partial missing brain? Yeah that'd be a hell of a warm up for Sylvia.

i'm not on drugs.. i don't think at least. .. i have no respect for neither fighter. I'm not saying that Kimbo is a good fight by any means.. He's lousy, i thought i said that... but so is Silvia. Prove me wrong? what good fight has silvia had lately? .Please, with those credentials silvia should be a much better fighter than what he is. That fight with Monson was the worst fight of UFC history. Neither fighter showed talent. poor monson couldn't reach the giant, and Silva did nothing during the whole fight. Vera will knock silvia out.

I'll agree with you that Sylvia is not fighting at his full potential. He's young to the sport and still pretty young overall. Honestly though I compare Sylvia with Shaq. They are decent at what they do but they're just giants that use their size fully to their advantage. In my humble opinion I think Andrei Arlovski, Forrest Griffin and Brandon Vera are all better overall fighters compared to Sylvia.
What's bullshit to me with Kimbo is he shows up to a backyard boxing match acting like a toughguy and end's up fighting some out of shape Jenny Craig throwback. Sean Gannon was running circles around Kimbo endurance wise. Kimbo just likes to throw hardcore bombs and uppercuts and use his weight to push his opponents around. The first fighter "Afro-Puff" looked like a fatter version of "Big Worm" and the second guy looked like he was just picked up from an "all you can eat pizza buffet line" to fight Kimbo. I'll give the second fighter respect for having the heart to keep fighting at least.

comon guys, i cant stand sylvia myself as a fighter and how he is outside of the ring but u gotta cut him some slack. despite him being a boring ass fighter he has a respectable record(only w/ 2 losses to arlovski who was once rated top 3 in the world and frank mir, former ufc champion who sadly is washed up) and has taken out some worthy opponents in ricco rodriquez and arlovski. if he wasnt such an easy personality to hate i think more ppl would support him. personally, i cant wait for someone to beat is ass but w/ ufc's shallow hw pool it aint gonna happen for a long time unless they start bringing outside talent. vera and arlovski are the only contenders.
im sure kimbo's managers know mma is bad news for him. they'll leave him to figthing in backyards against cans

Mainly because his dumbass promoters thought that Kimbo could compete with professional fighters. He got his wish with a unsanctioned match against Sean Gannon. Kimbo quickly found out that he was out of his league.

It looked to me as if Kimbo just punched himself out after pounding on Sean Gannon for 8 minutes straight. Kinda like Ali-Foreman, I bet if they were to fight straight up with boxing style rules Kimbo would beat his ass.

I would somewhat agree with that. MMA brings fighting to an entire other level or endurance and skill. Kimbo has boxing knowledge and strength. Sean Gannon is a "bottom feeeder" of sorts in the UFC and has yet to win a UFC sanctioned fight.
There are plenty of UFC and Pride fighters that are known for their superb standup skills though. I would personally love to watch Kimbo fight even guys smaller than him weight wise. People like Rich Franklin, Anderson Silva, GSP or Matt Hughes. Honestly Kimbo would weigh about 100lbs more than Hughes but I think honestly Hughes or GSP would hand Kimbo his ass.

Kimbo is atleast a "semi skilled" boxer. Being that he is atleast from the looks of it 6'3'6'4 and weights 260lbs I have a hard time believing Rich Franklin or Matt Hughes could even go 3 rounds with him. He has too much reach and too much strength to lose in a boxing match to either of those guys. I do not care how skilled a person is, When A much bigger guy hits you you feel it! Which is why you will never see a 175lb heavyweight champion in Boxing
