BLoWN FR500 ¯ Member # 8766 posted                              SO THE OTHER DAY I WAS CHANGING MY OIL , AND I NOTICE WHEN I TOOK THE FILTER OFF THE SPINDLE..IT WAS HITTING THE K-MEMBER. AND IT WOULD NOT COME OUT LAST TIME THIS DIDNT HAPPEN. I HAVE A TERMI MOTOR WITH A TUBULAR K MEMBER. IM SO LOST. I TRIED TO CROSS-REFFERENCE THE FILTER TO FIND A SMALLER ONE BUT NO LUCK. ANY IDEAS??? Engine mounts probably is the case. However I had a '89 Mustang a while back when my parents had a Taurus. The filter for the Taurus had the same thread count and size and the oil ring was exactly the same. The body though was a bit smaller. Now I don't recommend this for a perm fix, but if you need to get a temp filter on, cut that one in half with a hack saw and then pick one up for a Taurus. Used on the the turbo 2.3 with an oil cooler adapter. The Motorcraft one may be hard to find but other brands not so bad.
