SO THE OTHER DAY I WAS CHANGING MY OIL , AND I NOTICE WHEN I TOOK THE FILTER OFF THE SPINDLE..IT WAS HITTING THE K-MEMBER. AND IT WOULD NOT COME OUT LAST TIME THIS DIDNT HAPPEN. I HAVE A TERMI MOTOR WITH A TUBULAR K MEMBER. IM SO LOST. I TRIED TO CROSS-REFFERENCE THE FILTER TO FIND A SMALLER ONE BUT NO LUCK.
ANY IDEAS??? OTHER THAN LOSING THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND LIFT THE MOTOR EVER SINGLE TIME!

Yep you'll need an oil filter relocation kit like this.

I agree. Engine mounts probably is the case. However I had a '89 Mustang a while back when my parents had a Taurus. The filter for the Taurus had the same thread count and size and the oil ring was exactly the same. The body though was a bit smaller. Now I don't recommend this for a perm fix, but if you need to get a temp filter on, cut that one in half with a hack saw and then pick one up for a Taurus. The one for the 3.8l v6 engine should fit in.

The FL 300 is the short version of the FL 1 filter. Used on the the turbo 2.3 with an oil cooler adapter. The Motorcraft one may be hard to find but other brands not so bad.

I would also check the motor mounts but I would get the MM oil filter relocation kit anyways. Makes oil changes a lot easier.
