have been considering putting my stock hood back on but the dent in the front of it bugs me, anybody think this can be fixed easily with a rent-a-tool or something?

Yes, but you'll have to find someone that is really good at it. I had a dimple just right of my front grille on the 2001 S500. I was referred to a dent Doctor. Took it out the following day with no evidence of a dent being there or how he got it out. The only hard part is that your dent is behind the inner skin of the hood. But so was the dent on my S500.

I din't have to pay since it was one of those things I wanted them to fix before I took delivery of the car. But it is usually around $100-150 for them to do this. It's cheaper than repainting it.

I dont think it can be popped out completely, it looks like there is a pretty nice "eyebrow" on the bottom and those are a bit harder. I'll bet it would be less than $100 but you'll still be able to see something funky in that area. Still that would be better and cheaper than a repaint and look much nicer than it does now..

no im not near sac, ive been thinking of using my reciprocating saw to cut away the inner skin and using a rubber or plastic hammer and turning it up end and banging it out, then taking it to a friends shop and just have him tack it back on with his welder
