Ive been installing a 90 ford 302 into my wrangler. while installing pistons after the third one the bearings in rods dont sit centered in cap. Off set to one side. It appears that the locating tag in bearing is in the wrong place. Has anyone ever run across clevite bearings manufactured mistakes?

Nope, but I have seen folks who use the wrong rod bearings. Sounds like that's what you have.
