If you want a gas saver get a Yaris, Civic, etc.

But honestly.. how much $$$ will you really save??

figure 1000 miles a month, 250 miles a tank, 4 tanks of gas, 13 gallons at $3.30/gal for 91 in the mach1, that's $172/month in gas, round it and let's call it $250/month.

prius/random shitbox at $20k, nothing down, finance the whole thing for 5 years, $333/month with a 0% rate, so figure on $350/month.

1000 miles a month, 400 miles a tank, 2 1/2 tanks of gas, 10 gallons at $3.10/gal for 87, that's $77.50/month for gas, round it so call it $100.

So to save $150/month, you'll spend $250/month extra + insurance + maint. on 2 cars instead of 1 (even with a warranty you still need tires, brakes, oil changes, cooling system maint, filters, etc).

and at the end of the day you're driving an econo shitbox instead of a mach1, nope I'm happy daily driving my mustang, thanks.

and yes my #'s are not perfect, I used them because they were easy to calculate, for example a 25 mpg car would get 325 miles with 13 gallons of gas, no 250 like I used for the mach1, bringing the cost of gas per month a lot lower (250 miles for 13 gallons is 19mpg)

Exactly! I used to drive an '01 GT to work every day. It would get 23-25MPG and I was happy with it especially since I owned the car out right and did not have to deal with a car payment
