There is nothing preventing you from running a stock oil pan.

i did a little bit of homework on that and the 347 and from what i saw the 347 is less streetable than the 331 and has some issues with oil consumption, plus i can hurt the motor once and get al least one more bore out of it

If you are going NA then go with a 347. The newer kits supposedly don't have as many issues with oil consumption. It's all in the machine work.

If you are going with a blower then a 331 will be perfect. You will get lots of bottom end torque and good top end with the blower. Make sure you get a machine shop that knows about blower motors to do the assembly and machining. This will make sure your shit lives long with the blower. Also, you will need a pretty good fuel system to support the kinda power this motor will make.

I would run an aftermarket pan but it's not necessary. It just so happens I have a Morosso 7qt oil pan (tapped for a blower oil return for sale). Hit me up if you are interested [patriot]

oil problems were common when the stroker kits where first being sold this isn't an issue any longer. I've never had a problem on my 347 ever. Just buy quality parts.

What you have read is wrong. I had Keith Craft build a 331 for me for the same reason, oil consumption. *NEWS FLASH* The 331 pin intersects the oil ring just like a 347. Go for the 347. Also both a 331 and 347 are .030 overbore, so you will get no chance to bore it a second time unless you start with a virgin block and run either a 327 or 342

If your gonna run boost 331
If you go na 347
If you plan on going high rpm wise go 331 just my .02( better rod ratio then 347 unless you have a thick block and can go 4.125)
