If your car is stock I would imagine that it would not be worth it. However, if you car is modified and you get a custom chip (I wouldn't even consider off the shelf chips) tuned on a dyno here are some pros and cons

Cons
-------
- $$$$
- Everytime you do a perf mod then you have to re-tune

Pros
-------
- Safe A/F ratio and timing
- more HP
- fix drivability issues

Con:
Installling a chip voids the warranty.

Using a flasher will not void any warranty. A flasher is typically $100 more than a chip.

FYI, The stock tune on an 03/04 Cobra richens up the A/F after a few seconds of WOT to keep the cats cool. Typically the A/F goes deep into the 10's. This kills power.
