Well, the computer is going to lean out only because it's getting a reading from a few select sensors. O2's, coolant temp, air intake temp, and the spout connector (timing). You all need to do yourself a favor and not throw parts at a problem. Take a systematic approach to the problem and go over the basics first. Air, Fuel, and Spark. If they are all there, as they should be, move on and check other things. If you don't have a code for a bad MAF, why change it? If there is no problem with the TB and TPS sensor and it was set up correctly, why bother with it?

If a car is running way lean on a smog machine (basically testing the A/F ratio) what's that tell you? It's got something to do with the timing. Have you checked the balancer to make sure the ring hasn't spun? Sure sounds like the timing is sitting at about 5-6* BTDC. Hense the pop through the intake and lean condition!

exhaust leaks can cause all kinds of surging problems and such, especially around the collectors. Make sure your plugs are in the correct firing order.

If you buy new O2 sensors, get the kit from FordRacing at Summit. It is cheap, because you get new O2 sensors and a bunch of relays and other vital sensors that can cause problems. This kit (below) is cheaper than just buying 2 new O2 sensors.

Also, be careful installing O2 sensors, because if you dent them you can ruin them.
