hey can u guys give me some signs that my heater core is goin bad....? my heater still works but somtimes its humid air and it smells like coolant....but no leaks anywhere? any advice would be great.

If you turn on your defrost setting and steam comes out of the registers and it smells like coolant you've got a leaking heatercore. Thats the easiest way to tell. Check for coolant around the passenger side floorboard too.

I used to ride around in my car and then park it at teh store or whatever. Everytime I came back to it after driving, there was a condensation spot on my windshield right above the heater core. Not to mention the defroster didn't work, and my window would be foggy 90% of the time after driving it for a while.

the condensation spot on the windshield and a puddle of coolant on the passenger floorboard are your dead giveaways. have fun with it, i've done it on both of my mustangs, its fun [patriot]

it sounds like it is leaking, bypass the hoses you really don't need the heater right now anyway.

when it leaks it will get the pass. florr wet.

if you smell it, it most probably leaking...cuz it's sealed inside the car, and the inlet/outlet are in the engine comp.

i'd just plan a day to do it...and when you have the time (a lot of it) get it done.

by yourself expect about 4 hours total.
thats taking time for lunch and a few beers
