Buy an SN-95 rear end.... They are 5LUG and come stock with diskbrakes, you might be able to find a used one with gears for about $300-

My car is originally a 1966 coupe 6 cylinder, but I am not sure what size my original rear end is. Is it a 6" or an 8"??? If it's already an eight inch I know the answer to my own question. But if it's a 6 inch rear end, then I need to know where anyone can recommend purchasing a used 8" rear end full assembly with axles & 3.55 gears?????? I've already priced out a new Currie rear end assembly and it will cost me about $2,400! Also...does anyone know where to get a decently priced rear coil over conversion besides TCP? I hope someone can help me. Thanks!
Sounds like you have a cool project going. Check out these links:

true that! if i was in your position,I'd do all the suspention and steering stuff first. when you go to get brakes i'd buy some nice ones if you can buy them(baer brakes are the shit)the wilwood kits are cool. just commin' from me don't buy the stock discs (the kit from mustangs plus)they work but i regret buying stock brakes now As far as suspention try MAIER RACING (510)581-7600 good luck need anything like parts and stuff pm me i'll see if i can help.good luck
