I have a problem with my plug wires going out on me A LOT. I am about to be on my 4th set.... Anyone else have this problem too? Is there anything I could be doing to prevent this? This is a pretty expencive thing to do once a year like I have been... Thanks.

I have tried a couple. Stock, MSD, ford motorsport, now I need to try another, I will probabley get MSD again since I can get them right at vic hubbards... It is really frustrating that these keep going out!

FMS ones are junk...I installed Accel 300+ on my last 5.0 and never had one single problem...I had Taylor's on my 86 GT and I never had a problem with them either...I have MSD wires on my 2.3 turbo and they seem to be fine too....

I say a plug wire is a plug wire. FMS, MSD, Taylor, Nology, Accel, Fuck it. They're wires.

This is strange. I wonder why you'd be losing wire functions yearly. I wonder if there is an ignition issue? Do you have an aftermarket ignition booster? You shouldn't be losing wires so often. If theres an ignition booster like an MSD DIS 4 or something you might want to get it checked out

What do you mean by "going out"?

Are they burning through? Is the resistance of the wire going above 6K Ohm / Foot? Is it causing a mis-fire?

I know my car eats caps and rotors yearly but I run a Jacob's Electronics ignition. It's a big beast of an ignition but it was worth 0.010" of gap w/o blowing out under boost. Did wonders for emissions and drivability.

I'm not familiar with where the wires route on the '97s but I suspect its a possible culprit.
