Whats the easiest way of taping the oil pan.. or can i just drill it and put some grease on the drill to catch the metal shavings.

You need to get yourself a 5/8" punch. Use this to punch a hole into the pan. Than use the tap packed with grease to tap the hole. Make sure the tap goes in straight. Lots of people use silicon or plumbers tape to seal the fitting. They always leak. I have used JB weld on this fitting. Place it on the threads as you install the fitting and than surround the base of the fitting with the JB weld. This never leaks. The JB weld needs to sit for at least 5 hours before you put oil in it. Always change your oil after you tap the pan as any shavings will be discarded through draining the old oil out
